Chapter 7

Niall pov

I woke up the next morning with a big smile on my face.

Last night was really good.

After I had finished hugging Kenzie and she had stopped crying I whipped the left over tears away with my thumb. We made sure that it didn't look like she was crying before we went back.

We sat there, where we were sitting before. I watched her, she looked down at her hands. She was playing with the end of sleeve and with her hands.

She'd look up the odd time and catch me looking at her but I didn't care, I just smiled and she smiled back.

The odd time she'd say something to add to the conversation.

Later Brianna suggested that we play truth or dare. It was just normal, people doing dares, answering the truths.

About 10 minutes into the game Liam asked me "truth or dare?" I said truth since I didn't feel like moving. "Who's the hottest gi-" I didn't even let him finish.

Before I could even think I said Kenzie. She looked up and looked at me confused. I smiled at her and winked and then her once confused look turned into a smile.

Later that night I walked Kenzie home. I just thought hey, why take the car with my other buds when I can walk her home, get some 1 on 1 time.

Most of the walk was silent, but not awkward, or at least thats how I felt.

When we got to be driveway I walked her up to the door. "You know that you didn't need to walk with me." She had said. "I know" I smiled.

She leaned in and kissed my cheek "goodnight" she said. "Goodnight Kenzie" I replied as she walked into the house.

Oh man.

Thinking about last night made me smile. Oh what this girl does to me.

Ugh I can't think about this anymore, I need to focus on the big game.

Kenzie pov

I woke up and rolled over to grab my phone. I saw that I had a text from Sophia.

Sophia: hey, wanna come over at like 12? We can hang out just the 2 of us before the game.

I then looked at the time and saw that it was 11. Eh I'll have one to get ready.

Me: uh yeah sure. I'll be there at 12

She responded quickly

Sophia: yay sounds good see you soon !!

It took me a few minutes but I finally got out of bed. I walked downstairs to get some breakfast and tell my mom that I was going over to Sophia's house early.

"Good morning sunshine" my mom said as I walked into the kitchen. "Morning" I mumbled as I rubbed my eyes.

I pulled out the box of waffles from the freezer and the toaster and I put 2 waffles in.

"Where's nana and grandpa?" I asked before I let out a big yawn. "They went to a farmers market." My mom replied as she flipped the page of the newspaper.

"I'm gonna go over to Sophia's house at 12, and then I'm going to the soccer game tonight, I'm not sure what's happening after but I'll text you." I told my mom as I checked to see if my waffles were ready. "Okay" my mom replied.

I took my waffles out of the toaster and set them on my plate. I walked over and sat at the table across from my mom. She set her newspaper down.

"Do you like it here? I mean, are you okay here? You have friends right? Are you getting bullied? Is everything okay? We can move again if that's what we need to do? I just want you happy." My mom said.
