Chapter 24

Kenzie pov

"Hello" the deep voice said into the phone.

"Hi-hi dad it's me, Kenzie" I said pacing around the room. Niall gave me a small smile of reassurance from my bed.

"Kenzie. Hi. How are you?"

"I- I uh thought of what you said. Well asked. I- I'll meet you, get coffee or whatever you wanted to do. I'll do it. I'll talk to you."

"Really? You will?" He asked. He sounded so shocked. I mean I guess I was shocked too that I decided to meet him but he is the only parent I have left.

"Um yeah. When are you like available to meet or whatever?" I asked rolling my eyes at myself. Niall gave me a small smile and a thumbs up.

"Is Saturday okay with you?" He asked sounding unsure.

"Um yeah that's fine. Where? I mean like where are we meeting?"

"Well anywhere. Whatever works for you. I'm not sure where you're living now since I know that you have moved but Um yeah just tell me and I'll meet you there." He replied. I have no idea where to go.

"Well I'm living with nana and grandpa so like anywhere nearish them or something is fine." I said, I'm not necessarily all that good with decision making.

"Okay, how about, Um that coffee place in the downtown there that we used to always go to in the summer." He suggested.

When he said those words the memories came flooding back to me of when we used to walk to the downtown. It was about a 30 minute walk but it was worth it.

*flash back*

*they're 5*
"Daddy come on lets go" I whined. Niall and his daddy were going to be here soon. He was taking forever. "I'm coming monkey." He smiled as he walked down the hall. "Mommy are you sure you don't want to come?" I asked looking up at my mommy. She crouched down to my height. "Yeah honey. You and Niall don't run too far ahead of your father and Bobby, okay." She said with a small smile. "Yes mommy bye mommy" I said wrapping my arms around her neck.

I reached up and twisted the door handle. "Bye mommy, bye nana, bye papa!" I yelled as I skipped out of the house. I saw Niall and his daddy walking down the street once I got off of the porch.

"Niall!" I yelled running towards them. "Kenny wait for daddy! " my daddy yelled as I ran down the sidewalk towards my best friend and his dad.

I got to my friend and he said hi to me with a smile. The three of us walked towards my dad, he was going very slow. Once we got to my daddy he turned around and we began walking towards the downtown.

Niall and I began to run "they're so slow" I laughed. "I know!" Niall laughed in reply. We stopped and turned around to see our dads far behind. "C'mon lets go!" I yelled. "We're coming." My dad yelled back.

We got to the downtown and we went into the coffee shop that we always go to. Niall and I ran up to the baked goods counter. "That cookie looks so good" I said to Niall. "I know" Niall replied.

"Hi Kenzie. Hi Niall." The lady behind the counter said. "Hiya" I replied with a big smile. "What do you want monkey?" My daddy asked. "Can I get that cookie and one a peach juice daddy?" I asked. "Of course monkey." He replied with a smile.

Once we got all of our stuff we went and sat outside. Niall and I ate the cookies we got. "They taste so good!" I said. "I know!" Niall replied loudly.
