Chapter 6

Kenzie pov

*Friday*

I haven't talked to Niall in almost a week. I've just been avoiding him. Not wanting to get bullied more.

Riley has been giving me death glares all week. She's walked into me in the halls. Hits my books out of my hands, calling me names.

And this was without me talking to Niall. I didn't want to find out what it would be like if I did talk to him.

I walked into my first period class and sat in the desk that I have been everyday this week, in the opposite side of the room to Nialls.

He walked in and looked at me and a small frown came onto his face. Everyday he'd walk into class and look to see if I was still sitting there, every time he saw that he was you could see a small frown form on his face.

It pained me to see him like this but this is what I have to do.

He was my best friend. Someone who I've developed feelings for. Someone that I miss. I hate seeing him like this.

*lunch*

I quickly gathered all my books and then made my way to my locker.

I grabbed my lunch and then I closed my locker. When I closed my locker I saw Niall standing on the other side waiting for me to close it.

I let out a gasp. It kind of frightened me, I'm used to seeing him at his locker, but he wasn't, his locker was on the other side of me, he was just standing there waiting.

"Sorry I didn't mean to scare you" he said. "It's okay" I said quietly as I looked down at the floor.

"Kenzie, why are yo-" Niall began to say. "Niall I'm sorry, I don't like ignoring you, I don't like seeing you upset, I don't like not talking to my best friend, but it's- it's something that I have to do."

"Why? Why do you need to do it?" He asked confused. "Niall, I can't be talking to you, I can't get caught." I said. "What do you mean you can't get caught?" He asked.

I looked around to make sure that I didn't see Riley anywhere.

"Niall, I can't talk about it right now, not here. But I will tell you at one point, I promise" I said as I turned around.

"Kenzie wait" Niall said attempting to stop me. I turned around "I'll see you later Niall" I said before turning around and continued my way down the hall.

"Hey Kenzie" I heard someone say as I walked down the hall. I froze, at first I thought that it was Riley but then I realized that the tone wasn't angry.

It must be Sophia and Brianna.

I turned around and saw Sophia and Brianna walking towards me.

"Hey" I said once they were in front of me. "Hey" Brianna replied. "Are you going to the game tomorrow?" Sophia asked.

What. What is she talking about. What game?

"What?" I asked confused. "you know the big game. The soccer game. The first game of the season. The game that they've been talking about on the announcements all week. The game that everyone has been talking about." Brianna said. "So you're coming right? Please come. You can sit with us. Don't worry, Riley and Paige are cheerleaders, they'll be down on the field, we'll be up in the bleachers." Sophia said.
