(Male! Readers P.O.V)
"Where are you going?" My fathers voice called throughout the house as I was just about to sneak out the front door and go see my boyfriend.
"I-I..." I tried to think of an excuse and just as I came up with one he began talking
"You are my son, the son of a First Investigator of the CCG" He began his normal ramble that he would give me when he got really pissed about what I was doing "You need to learn to respect and when you graduate from the academy you need to be ready to kill ghouls."
"What if I don't want to kill ghouls?" I accidentally asked, wishing I could take it back
"WHAT?!" He yelled, but then he took a deep breath as he pinched the bridge of his nose "I was like this at your age.... I should've seen this coming...." He looked at me, his black toupee flopping to one side showing his bald spot "You will learn the horrors of ghouls, they are vicious creatures that pretend to be humans, there is nothing good about them."
It took so much strength to not punch him. Ghouls are just trying to survive, that's all.... they are like us, they just want to be loved....
"I've got to go" I said opening the door
"Don't you dare leave this house, I don't want you out there at night"
"Why? Because that's when ghouls are out? If you want me to hate ghouls so much then let me experience them in their habitat not locked up in cells and begging to give out information" I shot my father a look and then headed out. I walked down several ally ways hoping to loose men that might be following me. I made it to Hysy Art studio and walked in. "Babe, I'm here" I called to my boyfriend, hoping that he was there.
I heard crashing from upstairs and then the speeding clomping noises of his new boots against the stairs as he sprinted down them. He opened the door to see if it was really me, his hair was down, it rested nicely on his shoulder, and it was also really tangled as if he had fallen asleep. His eyes were half-lidded as though he was just woken up, and a lot of other things brought me to the conclusion that I had awoken him from his needed rest.
"H-Hey" He said rubbing his eyes trying to wake up
"Hey yourself" I walked to wards him and kissed his forehead. Uta walked past me and sat at his work bench. I decided to grab the stool in the middle of the show room and sat right next to him.
We stayed like that for... I don't know how long.
"(Y/n)" Uta called to me pulling me out of my trance
"Hmm?" I asked looking into his beautiful black and red eyes
"It's almost one in the morning you should head home" he looked a little sad to say so but in the end he was right.
"I guess so" I said pulling out my phone and realized that I had 18 missed calls from dad. "Shit!" I jumped up, grabbed my stuff and ran out the door after repeatedly saying to Uta that 'I wasn't here'.
I sprinted down the back ally ways, the darkness kind of terrifying. Suddenly I was pulled from behind and turned on my heal.
Please don't be a ghoul I repeated over and over again in my head.
"Oh its just you, Daki..." I was met with the face of Dad's right hand man, Furihata Daki, a younger guy who graduated the acadamy 7 years ago and has already made it to rank 2 investigator. Daki hates ghouls, the reason behind why I still have yet to find out.
"Don't just 'oh' me" he snapped back as usual "your father put an APB (search party) out for you, your damn lucky that you aren't ghoul chow right now" he grabbed my arm tightly and began to drag me back in the direction of my home. I fought against him, knowing it was useless I still did so.
