(Uta P.O.V)
It's officially been five years since the Ghoul Equality Act had been passed.
The Ghoul Equality Act states that:
No Ghoul is allowed to be executed in public,or private, for the soul reason of eating a human and no Ghoul is allowed to eat an innocent human. Any Ghoul desiring meat must visit the prison and pick out his/her food from death row inmates. If said goul wishes to chase down his meal, so that he still feels the hunt, he has 6 hours to do so before the ECA (Escaped Convict Association) is dispersed and brings the convict back. No left overs are to be found, either share the body or take it home.
Also it is no longer against the law for a ghoul and a human to marry and try to conceive children, if the mother of the child is human and is finding difficulties bearing the child she is to go to the nearest hospital to seek help.
Full bloods and Half blooded ghouls are encouraged to go to school for socialization and education, but it is not required for them.
It was hard for people to get used to this act. The ghouls had to refrain from eating good smelling humans and humans had to hold back the urge to steal a quinique and kill the ghoul. Along with this act came a price, the CCG was closed down and all CCG members were then charged with murder in the 3rd degree and placed in solitary cells. Every CCG member's family rebelled against the orders of the new FBJ (The Federal Bureau of Justice) who was the group that passed this law and replaced the CCG in the end.
But because of this law my boyfriend and I can see each other and don't have to be in the shadows any longer.
My boyfriend, (Y/n), has been really sick for well as long as I've known him. He has an unknown chain of cancer, he was really weak to begin with and when they started chemotherapy he got even worse, his parents put him in the hospital so that the nurses could take care of him properly. The two of us met when I was hiding from the CCG and I ran into his room, he helped me escape the facility without getting caught
"I'm a ghoul you know?"
"Ya I know"
"Why are you helping me?" I asked him
"Because, Ghouls are humans too"
That's when I changed my mindset on humans. I tried visiting him everyday after that, it was really hard to not get noticed, or almost caught by the CCG who were guarding the hospital. He was always happy when I'd come in and give him something from my adventures of the day.
But that was in the past, now I can go see him without thinking that this day could be my last.

I walked into the hospital getting a silent greeting from the young half ghoul at the front desk, who I've become well acquainted with, I walked into (Y/n)'s room with a big smile on my face as I found him sound asleep with the T.V. remote in his hand and one of my drawing books on his lap opened to a mask that I wanted to make for him. I walked up to him and kissed his forehead, as I separated my lips from his forehead his eyes fluttered open and he sheepishly and tiredly asked:
"Uta?"
"Hey, (Y/n)" I pulled up a set next to him as I began talking to him "So how has your day been?" I asked reluctantly
"Well that depends, what part of my day you asking about?" He said letting out a sigh as he resituated himself on the bed so that he wouldn't fall asleep again "My day started out by them taking a lung biopsy, which was extremely painful by the way, and then after a while the doctor came in and said that I had less time to live but then he said to still have hope, and then he asked me if I wanted a ghoul organ transplant so that my cells could heal themselves but the waiting time for a ghoul organ is 6 years or more, and I only have 2 at most" He let out a sigh "How about you? did you get into any trouble? Kill anyone? Almost die?" He asked a little too happy
"My day was kind of boring actually, Yomo invited me to go on a run which turned into a race, from the 4th ward all the way to the 22nd ward until we both realized that we were acting like children. After that we had to find our way back to the 4th ward without getting in trouble for passing through wards that we don't live in. after that I got to see my good old friend Kaneki Ken, you know the one who was the first half ghoul I had ever met, he had been through a lot and he was just let out of solitary confinement (for being in the CCG). Oh! I almost forgot, I met a customer today, at Hysy, that wanted a mask that mimicked a gorilla but he couldn't think of the japanese for gorilla so he acted it out!" we both laughed at that.
"Mr. (Y/n)?" A man in a lab coat knocked on the door frame as he walked in
"Oh, Dr. Mido" (Y/n) smiled lightly "Uta, this is the Doctor that has been taking care of me while you've been out gallivanting"
"Pleasure to meet you, Uta" The doctor stretched his hand out and I met his with my own for a calm and soft hand shake.
"Thank you for taking care of him while I'm not here" I said
Usually (Y/n)'s doctor changed every other week, but for the past year or so this man has been taking care of him.
"I have good news, (Y/n)" Dr. Mido smiled "Your red blood cell count and white blood cell count are now at a good number, they are no longer in the dangerous zone." Dr Mido did a little happy dance "Also thanks to your lung biopsy this morning we realized that the oxygen that you are taking in normally is in less of a percent than a normal human, so we will put you on pure oxygen and hopefully get your brain levels back to a normal human's level." He smiled "We'll set that up tonight, before you sleep so we can see how it acts when you are at rest too"
"Sounds good, Doc" I replied
"I'll leave you two alone then" Dr. Mido then left, closing the door a little as he did so
"I'm so glad you are doing better" I cupped his face and kissed his left cheek as I praised him
"I'm only doing better because you care helping me" He poked my nose and smiled "Uta, I love you so much, thank you for being here for me"
"(Y/n) I love you too"
"Thank you for saving me back then" He kissed the tip of my nose "I thought I was going to go crazy in this hospital"
"It was really you who saved me back then, you know"
"It depend on how you see it, Uta. I see it as you saving me, you being the one who saved me... I love you so much" He pulled me into small, and gentle, hug
"I love you so much more, (Y/n)"

A/n: I hope this was fluffy! I haven't written a fluff in so long! I hope you guys liked this chapter and as a warning I wont be able to make the next chapter out till Tuesday, but I will get it out Tuesday!
