***Five Weeks Later***

Olivia's P.O.V.

It was four days until Uni let out for summer holiday. I was wrapping up a few of my classes in the next few days and then I would temporarily move back to Doncaster before I had to return that September. I was going to spend time with my mum as well as have a formal meeting with my dad. It was required usually once a year. I had to see him because the divorce papers gave him to right to seeing me at least once every twelve months. Last year my dad broke into my apartment, so I figured that was good enough.

The last four days in London went by in a snap. Soon I was back at home with my mum. I was comfortable at home, but also very lonely. Avery, my really only friend, was back in South Shields, where she's from. My other friends were on tour and my best friend...well...he isn't talking to me anymore.

I was home only for a week when my mum and I started talking about my dad and the possibility of him coming to visit soon.

“When do you want to see him?” My mum asked from the kitchen while I was in the living room.

“Soon. I want to get it over with.” I told her loudly so my voice could be carried into the kitchen. My mum appeared, a phone pressed in between her shoulder and her ear.

“I'll tell him this Saturday at noon. Sound good?” She asked. It was now Thursday. I sighed and nodded. My mum disappeared back into the kitchen, probably fixing dinner. A few minutes later she appeared and sat beside me on the couch. “I haven't talked to him at all, you know.”

“I know.” I replied.

“I don't want you to feel uncomfortable.” She gingerly put it.

“Why would I feel uncomfortable?” I retaliated quickly. My mum paused.

“Well...the last time he 'visited', he broke into your flat with a scotch in his hand.” My mum said. I looked away and sighed. “You don't have to forgive him, you know.” My head snapped back in her direction.

“Why would you say that?” I asked, shocked. My mum looked nervous that she had said that.

“I just don't want you to be uncomfortable and I feel as though if you thought you had to apologize you would be in a bad position.” She explained. I thought about it for a moment.

“Mum, if he shows up sober then I'd consider forgiving him.” I told her. She nodded. “And we both know that's not likely.” I muttered, losing all faith in my so-called 'father'.

“He's here!” My mum called from the foyer. I straightened my dress and hopped down the stairs. My mum studied my outfit. “You don't have to impress him, Olivia.” She quietly told me. I just rolled my eyes, ignoring my mum's comment. I wasn't trying to impress him. I wanted to look nice and show him we were better off without his stinky ass. I waited until there was a knock. I slapped my mum's hand away as she tried to open it. I counted three seconds and then opened the door. We didn't want to be waiting by the door.

“Hello...” My mouth dropped when I saw my dad. He was clean-shaven and in a bright button-up shirt. I hadn't seen him in one of those since Easter when I was eleven. “...Dad?” I finished.

“Hello, my Olivia.” He replied. He went in for a hug but I ducked away. My dad looked hurt that I rejected his sign of affection, but dismissed it, knowing it was too soon for me. All three of us just stood there for a few moments. I could practically hear my mum shaking with nerves. “Hello, Regina.” My dad respectfully said to her.

“H-Hello, Nicolas.” She replied. They shook hands politely.

“Dad, how about we go into the backyard?” I asked. My mum looked at me. I nodded to her. She got the message.
