(Spoiler alert-you've been warned...)
Lloyd sat up straight, panting. He looked around his room, disoriented by the sudden transition from dreams to waking. His entire body was soaked in sweat, and the last image of y/n seemed to be superimposed over his vision.
"It's okay, Lloyd," someone said, putting a hand on his shoulder. "You were just having a nightmare."
Right, Lloyd realized. It was just a dream. But it had felt real. Too real. He threw his arms around y/n, ignoring the surprised squeak she made. "You're alive...you're okay..."
"Yeah," y/n said slowly. "Why wouldn't I be?"
Lloyd didn't have the energy to explain his nightmare, so he kept hugging y/n and took a few deep breaths to calm himself down. He needed to hang onto something and remind himself that this was real. And that...the other thing had only been a figment of his imagination.
The nightmares had been the worst part of y/n losing her memory. Every night, Lloyd's mind seemed to invent a new way for him to watch y/n get hurt without being able to do anything about it. This was the first time the worst thing had happened, though. This was the first time y/n had actually...
Instead of finishing his thought, Lloyd took another deep breath. "Promise you won't leave me?" he asked.
"I won't," y/n said. She sat on the bed next to Lloyd and patted his shoulder. "I promise."

"Ready or not, here I come!" Lloyd called. Playing hide-and-seek had been his father's idea for a way to quietly help y/n practice using her elemental powers. She was getting better at using them during training, but as Lloyd had learned during his time as a ninja, training with elemental powers was very different from using them in a real-life situation.
The other catch to a real-life situation, of course, was that y/n couldn't know she was being tested, or there wouldn't be any point. So Lloyd had suggested a game of hide-and-seek, and luckily for him, everyone had agreed. He'd been chosen to be it first, of course. That was always the downside of being the one who wanted to play hide-and seek. So, Lloyd had sat down in the living room and counted to one hundred while the others scattered to look for hiding places.
Lloyd headed straight for a room at the end of the monastery, the one they used for storage. This was the perfect place for y/n to hide, especially if she was using her elemental powers. He turned in a slow circle, carefully checking every part of the room. It looked empty, but a nagging instinct that he'd learned to pay attention to told him he wasn't alone. He turned again, but still saw no sign of someone hiding anywhere. Either y/n was using her elemental power, or whoever was in here was doing a really good job.
Lloyd checked around the room one last time, then turned to leave. A split second later, a figure detached itself from the wall next to the doorway and shouted, "Gotcha!"
Completely surprised, Lloyd fell over backward, with the person on top of him. He rolled instinctively, trying to get the upper hand, but the other person went with it and ended up on top of him, pinning him to the floor.
Y/n laughed and grinned triumphantly at Lloyd. She didn't even need to say anything for him to get the message that he'd been completely and totally owned.
It occurred to Lloyd that this was the closest he'd been with y/n since she lost her memory. He flushed at the thought, before realizing that y/n was blushing, too.
"You're cute when you laugh," Lloyd said before he could think about it.
"You're cute when you blush," y/n replied. Her blush darkened, and she looked away, avoiding Lloyd's gaze. Lloyd reached up and brushed a few strands of hair out of her face, causing her to look at him again.
Y/n slowly leaned closer, and Lloyd tilted his head up to meet her. At the last second, he saw y/n's eyes slide shut and remembered to close his own.
He'd almost forgotten what kissing her felt like.
