As you all know, before Kai and Nya joined up with Sensei Wu, they ran a blacksmith shop for a living. Here’s how Kai would go about forging a traditional Samurai katana.
1. Get told by Nya that we need another katana to put on display. Try to think of a way out of it.
2. Nya won’t take no for an answer. Sigh loudly and reluctantly get to work.
3. Try to build a fire to heat the metal with, but go too fast and accidentally put it out. Restart the fire, doing it slowly this time.
4. Get metal and a hammer. Wait in boredom until the fire is hot enough.
5. Heat the metal and hammer to fold it. Then heat and hammer again.
6. Repeat step 5 until you’re mind-numbingly bored and can’t take it anymore (anywhere from 2-8 repetitions).
7. Heat again and hammer until it’s the shape of a sword blade. (More hammering, yay.)
8. Paint the blade with that mud stuff (too embarrassed to ask Nya what it’s called again) and cool it.
9. Repeat steps 7 and 8 (so freaking tired of this...)
10. Heat it up one more time (argh) and put the finishing touches on the shape of the blade.
11. Dunk the blade in the water barrel to cool it and hold it up to show Nya.
12. DANG IT IT BENT
