"Ok honey we are going to take you off of the machine." Nurse Sheri said very calmly as she removes the tubes from my body.
My mom held my hand the whole time. I couldn't stay mad at her and she couldn't stay mad at me. We were all each other had.
"Ok, finished!" Sheri smiled at me. I smiled back, "You get out of bed now and do whatever, just press the button if the pain comes back."
"Thank you Sheri," She leaned over and hugged me. It felt just like a moms hug. Soft, caring, loving, like all your sadness, concern and pain goes away.
"You are so very welcome dear," Sheri exited the room gracefully.
I saw a tear stroll down my moms face, but she was still smiling. I kissed her cheek.
"Be strong. Be strong mom."

- can I come and visit u at the hosiptal?! -
_ Maeve
I looked at the text with concern. Did I want her to see me like this. I really missed her. I thought about it for a bit. My mom looked at my phone.
"She should come." My mom told me. "You need to talk." I picked up my phone and replied.
-sure, when?-
_Ella
-tomorrow, @ noon?-
_Maeve
-sounds good.-

I half smiled. I was nervous, I hadn't seen her in a while. I don't like it when people just give me attention because I am sick and "dying", if your going to, give me attention for something that's good. Although I don't mind getting presents.
***********
I bit my lip, I usually do this when I am nervous.
I sat in the cafeteria waiting for Maeve to come. We were going to eat together and "talk", I am not really sure what that means.
I saw a car pull up to the front of the hospital. The car door opened. Maeve stepped out of the car. Maeve had long brown hair reaching the end of her rib cage. She was wearing cut shorts and a colourful shirt. Very much boho.
Her hair flowed in the wind as she walked up to the hospital doors. I touched my hair, that wasn't there. I signed. Maeve walked up to the table where I sat. I stood up and hugged her. Tightly, I missed her. I was no longer nervous I needed my best friend with me.
"Hey, how are you feeling?" Maeve smiled as she asked. There was that question. Always how are you feeling instead of how are you.
"I am fine, how are you?" I half smiled as I answered.
"I am great!" She dug in her pocket she grabbed something, all I could see is that it was sparkly. "Hold out your hand and close your eyes." I did as she said. She placed something in my hand, "Now open your eyes." I opened then and saw a sparkly infinite necklace that said BFF on the back.
"Awe!" I held it up in front of my face. It was beautiful. She pulled back her hair from her neck and I saw the same pure gold necklace on her neck, "it's amazing! Wow! Thank you!" I kidda felt bad that I didn't get her anything.
"Your welcome!" Her face lilt up as mine was. "We are going to have some fun today and tomorrow, huh?"
"Defiantly!"
