As Camila took every step closer to Lauren's apartment door she felt the anxiousness rising farther and farther up in her chest. It felt like there was a noose tangled around her heart.
She texted Dinah on her way to the apartment building asking what her room number was. Since the Polynesian girl made it known that she had a penthouse she knew it was on the top floor.
Finally after slow agonizing steps her eyes were on the room number, 'S2.' A long breath was drawn in and exhaled out before she cautiously hovered her hand over the door.
What was she doing?
This was so insane. How could she confront Lauren after the three weeks of no speaking and the way she left things with her at the club? Why would she even try to pick things back up? Lauren was a player, Camila was well aware of the matter. So why was she continuously drawn to the mysterious green eyed girl.
She swallowed her nervousness before gently clapping her knuckles against the hard wood before taking a step back. Camila instantly thought over her options, maybe she had a chance to make a dash for the elevators before Lauren opened the door.
Her leg was reaching out in the direction, getting ready before she heard the lock on the door slide and the airy sound of the door opening.
"Camila?" That familiar raspy voice rung out with a new taste of vulnerability laced into it.
She instantly sucked in a sharp breath at the sight of the girl. The dark bags under her eyes were such a harsh contrast to her porcelain complexion. Her cheekbones seemed sunk in and even her voice was carrying an undeniable sense of exhaustion. The girl before her was wearing a faded band t-shirt with some baggy sweatpants, her hair it's usual wavy mess. The pale blue color in her eyes compared to the usual piercing green took Camila's breath away.
Even through her sickly appearance, Lauren still looked mesmerizing.
Camila took a slow step forward, her body instantly being attracted to the one before her. "Lauren look I-I...I'm-"
"Camila," Lauren breathed out as if that one word could cure cancer and stop world hunger. Her arms reached out, capturing the smaller girl in her grasp before harshly pulling her into the raven haired girls body. Camila heard Lauren slam the door shut with her foot. One of Lauren's arms was wrapped firmly around the younger girls neck while the other snaked around her petite waist. Lauren felt her hips collide with the smaller girls but she still continued to try and pull her closer.
It took Camila a second to comprehend what was happening but once her mind caught up, her arms were wrapped around Lauren's waist just as tightly, if not tighter than Lauren's grip.
"Lauren," Camila mumbled against Lauren's chest as her feelings started welling up in a storm, tears pooling in her eyes. Lauren's scent invaded Camila's nose and it was as if it was resuscitating her.
"Shh," Lauren cooed as her fingers ran through Camila's hair. "Don't speak, please." She weakly gasped as her hand wrapped tighter around Camila's waist. Their bodies molded together perfectly as they contently stood as one in the foyer. Lauren took this time to memory as she paid special attention to the feel of Camila's body against hers. Camila's curves that her arm rested against, the way the smaller girls hot breath felt against her neck as she sighed in relief, the feeling of needy arms wrapped around her waist, arms that called for her body, the soft feel of Camila's hair against Lauren's fingertips, everything was put to memory in Lauren's mind.
She didn't know when she would get this opportunity again, if ever, so she chose not to waste it. Lauren lost track of how long they stood there. It could've been seconds, hell, it could've been hours, but the light feeling in her stomach didn't go away for a simple second as she held Camila impossibly close against her body. Lauren felt all of the heavy exhaustion on her shoulders lift and evaporate into thin air at Camila's touch.
