"Babe?" Camila nervously calls out into the apartment as she eyes the heavy rain falling outside the window.

Lauren hums in response as she approaches her girlfriend in the kitchen. She loops her arms around Camila's petite waist before resting her head on the brunette's shoulder.

"What happens if the power goes out?"

"Then I don't have to turn the lights down low before I make you feel good." Lauren shrugs as she places small pecks against the side of Camila's neck.

The smaller girl lets out a loud laugh, causing Lauren to instinctively smile. "You're such a pervert," The younger girl jokingly scolds.

Lauren giggles before pressing a feather light kiss to the side of the smaller girls neck. "If it goes out then I have plenty of candles and flashlights. Our portable batteries are all charged up and you've got me to keep you safe from the boogeyman." Lauren whispers before Camila turns around in her girlfriends arms to peer into bright emerald orbs. "I highly doubt the power will go out though, this is a nice building."

A few hours later, Lauren finds herself skimming through a manuscript in her office. Glasses perched up on her nose and eyebrows scrunched together in concentration.

She seems to be reading over a particular line multiple times as her desk lamp flickers for a few seconds before completely giving out on her. She looks up in surprise as her whole office is caked in darkness, the completely dead room overrun by the sound of relentless rain pounding against the side of the building.

"Baby?" Lauren's favorite voice fractures through the pitter-patter of water falling from the sky.

Lauren instantly chuckles before tossing the papers on the table along with her glasses. She stands from her desk chair, grabbing her phone and turning on the flashlight.

"Babe?" Lauren hears again.

"Camzi?" Lauren calls out as she escapes her office. "Where are you, baby?"

"Bathroom," She hears the younger girl groan. She can't help but chuckle as she rushes down the hall before knocking on the closed bathroom door.

"You alright?"

"Didn't you say that you doubted we'd have a power outage?"

"I'm not psychic, I'm sorry," Lauren chuckles. "Let me in!"

"Not a chance!" Camila squeals, causing the raven haired girl to smile and shake her head from side to side.

"Why not?"

"Because."

"Because why?"

"Lauren," Camila whines, and the older girl can't hide the grin inhabiting her features.

"Tell me."

"Because I was peeing and now it's pitch black and I can't see a thing." Lauren can't stop the abundance of giggles that escape her lips as she listens to her girlfriend's quickfire confession through the door.

"Shut up, Lauren."

"I-I'm sorry," Lauren breathes out through her giggles. "W-what can I- Oh my God," Another round of severe laughter courses through her system and she knows her girlfriend is cursing her right now but she can't stop.

"Just hand me a damn flashlight, Lauren." The younger girl groans in exasperation. As soon as Lauren creaks the door open, Camila sputtered, "And no peeking!"

Lauren obnoxiously rolls her eyes as her giggles settle over. "I've seen you more exposed than this, Camz," She retorts before closing her eyes and blindly handing over her phone with the flashlight still on.
