Camila awoke a few hours later to an empty bed. She could tell it was late at night, judging from the pitch black room. The only light that illuminated the space was the TV, continuing to play on through the darkness.

The brunette threw the covers off, instantly beginning the search for her girlfriend.

She didn't have to look long, as soon as she stumbled from the bedroom her eyes landed on the older girl hunched over the kitchen counter.

"Lauren?" The younger girl called out. She approached, resting a hand carefully on the girls shoulder.

That brought the green eyed girl from her trance, she jarred from her thoughts, standing to her full height.

"Hey," She nodded, her voice was thick and raspy from not talking for hours. It was different from her usual morning voice, this one was layered from her earlier tears and their screaming match.

"You left," Camila uttered with a small frown playing on her lips.

"I know, I didn't want to wake you," Lauren answered with a sad smile.

"What're you doing up?"

Lauren shrugged, eyeing the granite countertop before her, "Just thinking."

"About us?" Camila questions as she nervously takes her bottom lip between her teeth.

Lauren's jade orbs meet chocolate and the younger girl instantly takes in her bloodshot eyes and red cheeks. The sight breaks Camila's heart. "Kind of."

"Are you done?" Camila flatly asks.

Lauren's head quirks to the side as an amused grin plays on her lips. "Done?"

"Yes."

"Am I done thinking?" Lauren chuckles.

"No, Laur. I mean are you done with me? With us?" Camila's voice faltered on the last word.

The older girls features instantly soften when she hears the insecurity in her girlfriends voice.

"Why would you think that, Camz?"

"I don't know," Camila whispers as she crosses her arms against her chest defensively. "I told you everything and you've had some time to think. Maybe you've decided that you can't handle my baggage."

Emerald orbs scan the smaller girls face intently as she takes a step back from the counter. "What?" She whispers out, confusion evident on her features. "You think," The older girl pauses for a moment, her tongue swiping out to wet her lips, "You think that just because you tell me something dark from your past, I'll run?" She counters with a hurt expression painted on her sculpted features.

"I-I wouldn't blame you," Camila croaks out, small tears pooling against her caramel orbs.

"How shallow do you think I am?"

"Lauren..."

"No, Camila, that's not fair! You-"

"I don't expect you to walk away! I just think it would be good for you!" Camila retorts, the space between their two bodies increasing.

"How, Camila? How in the hell could losing you possibly be good for me?" Lauren quips back as her hands slam against the table. "Do you think I'm shallow? Do you think I walk away from things that mean everything to me?"

"My God, I'm not questioning your shallowness! I know you've got a good heart, Lauren. I know you've got this big heart that you won't even admit to having. You would give and give and give yourself away to take care of someone you care for. I know you're not shallow and I would never fucking question that." Camila roared as tears unknowingly dribbled down her cheeks.
