Chapter 38

He blame himself, no scratch that he HATES himself. How can he do this? Paano niya to nagawa? She almost died because of him! Hindi niya magawang pumunta dahil hindi niya kayang makita kung anong nangyari sa kanya. His the reason why she’s suffering. Why she hadn’t woke up.  

During the third day, he finally gathered the courage. He will see her. There were voices inside and that particular voice is familiar. It makes his heart leap and a smile form on his face knowing that finally she’s awake.

 “Thank you Pau, for everything. I’m more than blessed to have you as a friend. I’ll always loved you” his hands begun to shake. “I’m more than lucky to have you Rein” the guy replied. Slowly opening the door he found them hugging. His heart can’t take this anymore. It’s official, he quickly run away dropping the bouquet of roses out of nowhere.

She’s happy now, she finally found her happiness. The scene keeps on replaying on his mind giving him a painful blow in his chest. Nahihiya siya and at the same time he’s afraid. Naaksidente si Rein malapit sa subdivision nila. That day nagkasalubong kami ni Amber sa mall. She’s borrowing my previous project saying that she’ll need it for her summer class. Kaya nagpunta sila sa bahay. He was surprised to see Rein. Hindi niya alam yung bahay ko, but he’s also happy to see her there wearing that bright smile. Nagulat pa siya ng makita niyang magkakilala yung lola niya at si Rein. So she’s the girl that her grandma is so fond of. He was about to approach her when she quickly excuse herself and runs away. Hinabol niya to kahit na umuulan, leaving her confused grandma and pissed Amber. Umuulan at malakas ang hangin, madilim din ang langit. He was worried and to make it even worse he heard a screetching vehicle. His world stops when he move towards and found the bloody figure of the girl she loves.  

Mas malala pa ako kay Paulo. That’s why she already accepted her mom’s offer. As much as I wanted to be with her alam kong hindi na dapat. She’s happy and safe now and that’s all that matters.

(Rein’s POV)

Medyo magaling na yung paa ko. Nung isang araw tinanggal na yung benda. I was on crutches but it’s okay. The doctor said I’m recovering fast. “Rein eto na yung pinabili mo” sabi ni mama. I gave her a smile then mouthed thanks. I already told her the reason and for being the understanding mother that she is, all that I receive is a heart warming hug. After nung talk nila ni Hannah, it was never brought up again. Her sister acted normal about it. How grateful can she be? Napaka understanding ng pamilya niya. Without them, maybe she had already given up.

“Rein may bisita ka” her thoughts were interrupted. She look at the door and see the smiling figure of Bianca. She holds up a cup of frappucino and said “Coffee?”. I gave her a smile.

“Thank you Biancs, grabe namiss ko to” we were at my room having our snack. “Alam ko, kaya nga ikaw ang una kong naisip” she grab a cookie then said “Ilang weeks ka pa daw magccrutch?". “After a week, pwede ko na daw tanggalin” I replied. She nods then I noticed that something’s bothering her. “You wanna share it?” I asked. After taking a sip she agreed “A..ano kasi nagkita kami ni Kent…”. I gave her a smile to let her continue.

“We accidentally bumped on each other last week. He gave me a cold stare and acts as if he doesn’t know me. I beg him for a talk and then he agreed. Galit na galit siya saken Rein. And I couldn’t blame him, he deserve to be mad. I explained the whole story to him, he was shaking then after ng ilang minute he understands. I told him I still love him and I’m sorry. Alam kung sa ginawa ko, hindi na ko dapat umasa na bumalik pa yung pagmamahal niya saken. I screwed up big time!” her voice begun to tremble and I know that she’s on the burst of crying

“H-he told me that he love me, pero hindi yun sapat. Masyado ko na daw siyang nasaktan. And everytime na maalala niyang mahal niya ko, the pain overwhelm it. Kahit na mahirap naintindihan ko at tinanggap ko Rein. Kasalanan ko naman ehh. I let him go just like that. At masaya na rin ako, I’m happy na nakita niya si J-jessica. Atleast she’ll love him unlike me who’ve taken everything for a revenge”

I comfort her. Alam kung mali si Bianca, but that doesn’t mean na hindi siya nasasaktan. Masakit na araw-araw you’ll regret that one wrong move of letting the one person that you love loose on your grip just like that. Oo, mga bata pa kami. Kung titingnan to ng matatanda they’ll just laugh at our situations. Na masyado naming sineseryoso ang mga ganitong bagay, na hindi totoong love yung nararamdaman namin, na dala lang to ng kabataan, that it’s just a simple infatuation or attraction to the opposite sex. But you know what? They can talk and think of how foolish we are, pero hindi naman sila yung nasa posisyon namin. Kung para sa kanila this is just an infatuation well for us it’s not. Dahil dito namin unang naranasan magmahal, masaktan at matuto.

“Rein, it maybe too late for me pero hindi pa sayo. You’ve already take the chance, don’t be afraid to try it again. Wag mong hayaang mahuli na ang lahat at pagsisihan mo yun” Bianca said. Oo, alam niya din yung nangyari. I told her about it the first time she visit me. She and Hannah are telling me the same thing. Nakapag desisyon na ko, once I’m out of these crutches I’ll talk to him.
