Your POV

"Wait, so that's the Lauren and Brad?" Bea asks, sitting across from me. We're at the local cafe, and Shawn is sitting next to her.

"Yep. Didn't you know that? I thought it was pretty obvious when I said Brad and Lauren." I say, twirling the straw in my cup.

"And those were her friends? Mm, Camila is cute." Shawn says, gazing at the wall.

I roll my eyes, "Shawny Boy has a crush."

A hint of pink shows up on Shawn's cheeks, "Shut up. Anyways, what're you going to do about Lauren?"

"Nothing," I shrug. "I mean, what can I do? At least we're trying to be friends again."

----

I'm outside my apartment, smoking a cigarette. My back is against the wall and my eyes are close as the cigarette is in my mouth.

"Can I have one?" I open my eyes to see Lauren.

"No," I shake my head. "It's bad for you."

"Then why do you do it?" She asks, leaning against the wall next to me.

I sigh, putting the cigarette out, "It takes the pain away."

"Oh.." Lauren trails off. Ever since Lauren left me, I've been thinking about how Brad has been treating her.

"Does he treat you well?" I ask, looking at her.

"What? - oh, yeah." She looks away from me, softly signing.

"That's good," I mummer, putting my hands in my pockets. "You deserve the best, Lauren. And I'm sorry I couldn't provide it."

----

I pour the liquor into my coffee, then putting the flask in my jacket. I stir it up, leaning in the booth.

"Hey." I look up to see Bea. I smile at her before taking a sip of my drink.

"Hi." I say after swallowing. She sits down in front of me, then getting out a notebook.

"I wrote a song, check it out?" I nod, taking the black notebook as she slides it across the table. I read over the lyrics, a smiling growing on my face.

"This is good," I look up at her. "Really good."

"Thanks - do I smell whiskey?" She asks, furrowing her eyebrows.

I shrug, "I don't smell anything." I lie, drinking from my cup. She narrows her eyes at me and sighs.

"For fuck sakes, give me the cup." I roll my eyes, handing her the cup. She takes the top off and brings it to her nose. "Damn it, Y/N."

I sigh and snatch my cup back, then glaring at her.

"Get your own." I mumble before taking a sip.

"Aren't you suppose to be trying to stop?"

"Aren't you suppose to be minding your own business?" I shoot back, raising an eyebrow at her.

"Not when it comes to my best friend," Bea says. "I'm gonna help you stop drinking, just watch."

"Good luck."

----

I'm searching for Brad, my paintball gun in my hands. I start running when I see movement.

Someone rams right into me, making us both collapse. I grunt and prevent myself from falling into of the person. I put my hands beside their head, holding myself up.

"Sorry." The person mummers. I look down to see a girl with gorgeous green eyes.

"N-no," I stammer. "My bad, are you okay?" I regain myself.

"Yeah," She laughs. "I'm okay, I mean, I got a terrific few." She winks at me, causing me to blush.

I was about to say something, but someone shoots me.

"Ha! Got you, L/N!"

I sigh, "Fuck you, Brad." I stand up, holding my hand out for the girl to take. She smiles and grabs my hand, me lifting her up. "I'm Y/N."

"Lauren."

I drink from the glass, starring at my coffee table. That's the first day we met. I was hanging out with Brad and a couple of other friends when I ran into Lauren. She was playing with Dinah and Normani.

That was a great day, because I met the love of my life.
