a/n: are you guys ready bc i don't think you are

Your POV

Dinah and I set at the bar. We've been here all day, hanging out and talking.

"I have a question," Dinah said. "Do you still love Lauren?" Well, that was sudden.

I raised an eyebrow. Of course I still love Lauren. Apart of me always will, even though I don't want to.

"Why are you asking?" I asked, looking at her.

She shrugged, "I just want to know."

"I don't know." I answered. "I don't know, Dinah." I sighed, taking a sip of the beer. "Like, apart of me always will. And I don't want to. She just..she has my heart."

"Why take someone back when they've hurt you so many times?" Dinah asked.

"If I knew that answer to that I'd tell you, but I don't." I responded. "Sometimes I feel like I'd be better off alone then with someone who doesn't want me."

"But Lauren does want you," Dinah told me. "She is sleeping with you. That has to mean something, right?"

I looked at her, "That's only sex. There's no meaning to it."

"How do you know that? For all we know, she could still be in love with you and to scared to tell you it," she paused. "She could be scared that you don't love her back."

I scoffed, "She knows I love her. And if she does love me, then why didn't she tell me that three years ago?"

"Because that was three years ago," Dinah stated. "When people are apart, that makes their love stronger. If I were you, I'd go tell her that I love her."

I chuckled, "When did you become good with love advice?"

"It's been three years, Y/N," Dinah laughed. "Now go get your girl. I'll pay - oh, and don't get her chocolate she -"

"I know," I cut her off. "She hates chocolate. I got this, Dinah."

---

I had a jar of Nutella, flowers and pop tarts in my hand. It's a lot to carry, but I can manage.

People might say I'm stupid for wanting Lauren back. But, I'm stupid crazy in love with her. Yes, I may of gave her to many chances, but I actually believe we will live happily ever after.

I crossed the street, not paying attention. I was looking down at my shoes and not at the lights. I heard a honk, causing me to look up, but it was to late.

My body rolled across the car, my head hitting the cement. The flowers landed in front of me, most of the petals across the ground.

Everything was blurry, and it seemed like everything was in slow motion. All I could see was feet running towards me and muffled screams.

My eyes closed, and everything went black.

Lauren's POV.

I ran into the hospital, spotting everyone in the waiting room. I jogged over to them, tears already falling from my face.

"W-what happened?" I managed to get out.

"The paramedics said that she hit her head on the side walk after the collision," Shawn said, holding a crying Camila. "They're still in surgery and we should be getting an update any minuet now."

"Oh god.." I murmured, a sob escaping my throat.

"I'm guessing you're Lauren?" A doctor came up to us, I nodded. "I'm Dr. Shepard, head of Neuro. Y/N hit her head on the sidewalk, and," his eyes dropped to the floor. "We did everything we could. There was a major bleed, and we couldn't stop it. I'm afraid she's brain dead."

"B-brain dead?" I stammered. "What does that mean?"

"It means," he sighed, folding his hands together. "It means that she can't wake up."

My face dropped and so did my heart. Tears escaped my eyes as I stared at the doctor.

"But she's breathing?" Bea questioned, standing up.

"Yes, but she's basically dead." He sadly said. "She won't be able to wake up, would you like to see her?"

---

I held Y/N's hand, staring at her bruised face.

"She was on her way over to you," Dinah said from across the room. "She was going to ask you out again, to tell you that she loved you."

I closed my eyes, my chest weaving up and down. I couldn't breathe. My lungs burned as another sobbed escape my throat.

"I love you Y/N," I whispered. "Wake up. Please wake up." I waited for her to open her eyes. To see her Y/E/C staring at me with a smile on her face. "Wake up!" I screamed.

I turned around and faced Dr. Shepard, "Why isn't she waking up!" I shouted. He didn't respond. "Fucking answer me!"

"She can-"

"She can't wake up but she's breathing!" I cut him off. "I know that! But please - there has to be something - a-anything."

"I'm sorry, but there's nothing I can do." He repeated. I turned around and faced Y/N.

I bent down, placing my lips on hers, "I love you too, Y/N. I always have and always will."
