Your POV

Love. It's a weird thing, isn't it? I mean, someone you don't even know could be in love with you. Someone who is your best friend could be in love with you.

Love triangles, yuck. Those have to be the worst, yet, I think I'm in one.

Lauren, Brad and I. Brad loves Lauren, Lauren loves me and I love Lauren.

It's complicated.

----

"Where were you!?"

"I was out." Daddy dryly replied. That's all I've been hearing, mommy and daddy arguing.

"Were you out with her again?" Mommy shouts. I stand by my door, listening in.

"No, I was at work." Dad mumbles.

"With that girl!" Mommy exclaims. It goes quiet, until I hear ruckus. I open my door and rush into their room.

Mommy is on the floor, holding her side as daddy towers over her.

"Mommy? Daddy?" I quietly speak, causing them to look at me. Dad looks at mom before walking over to me.

He picks me up, walking to my room. He places me in the bed and kneels down.

"Go to sleep, sweetheart." He says before kissing me on the head, then walking out.

He pushed her. I didn't know what was happening at the time, but I knew something was wrong. And I was right. He left us for some mistress.

I'm sitting down at the café, drinking my coffee. The weather is chilly out, in its 50's.

"Is this seat taken?" I look up to see Lauren.

"No, sit." I smile at her. "How have you uh, been?"

"I'm okay, you?" She wraps her hands are her coffee.

"I've been thinking," I admit. "About my dad. I mean, he didn't even say goodbye, he just left." Lauren, Bea, Shawn and Brad are the only ones who know about my dad.

"I think he didn't say goodbye because it would hurt him, make it harder for him to leave." Lauren tells me.

"Good," I mumble. "He shouldn't have left. He shouldn't have done the things he did."

"People to crazy and stupid things, Y/N," Lauren sighs, looking out the window. "I know I have." She looks back at me.

The thing about love triangles is that you go to the person who loves you. You run to the easy choice, you go to the person who loves you. Except, sometimes, the two both love you, and you run to the wrong person.

----

I smile and wrap my arms around Lauren's waist, bringing her closer to me. I see Brad roll his eyes, but I ignore him.

We're currently out to eat with Brad and James.

"You two are cute." James comments, looking between Lauren and I. "I totally ship it."

Lauren kisses my cheek, causing me to grin.

"Yeah," Brad mumbles, "You two are so cute!" He sarcastically exclaims.

From that night, I knew that Brad had a crush on Lauren. I knew that he wasn't jealous because I was spending more time with Lauren, because he's not like that.

Whenever Brad was around Lauren, I stayed cautious, watching him. I was being protective of Lauren, making sure Brad didn't hit on her - he never did, at least when I was around.

I got over it, thinking his tiny crush was gone.

I was wrong.

----

I walk down the stairs to the sound of music. I raise an eyebrow as I see Bea in her underwear, dancing around in an oversized sweatshirt.

She turns around, blushing and stopping when she sees me. She stares at me, then shrugging and dancing again. She motions for me to join her.

"No." I chuckle, shaking my head. Bea dances over to me, grabbing my hands. I sigh and give in, now dancing around.

In the middle of dancing, my phone rings. I continue dancing and answer it.

"Hello?"

"Y/N?"

I immediately stop dancing, freezing up.

"Dad?"

---

haha oh well.
