"I bet you're going to drop out since your pregnant."

"You obviously don't care about your education since you decided to get knocked up your senior year."

"Are you going to have your own tv show? 18 and pregnant?"

"Teenagers are so careless nowadays. What a shame."

Those were the typical things I'd hear from people around me throughout my senior year. All I could do was brush them off, keep my head held high and prove them wrong.

I have to admit, balancing AP classes and remaining on the honor roll list while going through pregnancy was hard. There were multiple times when I wanted to just give up. I tried not to miss class even though I felt nauseous and tired most of the time.

What kept me going to where I am today, is Ella. I've finally decided my baby's name and have been in love with it since and I can't wait to meet her.

I rummaged through my closet and threw out my clothes. "I can't fit anything!" I whined, throwing dress after dress into a huge pile on the floor.

Alexa smiled, encouragingly. "We'll find something."

"I literally can't wear any of these dresses." I placed my hands on my back for support.

We heard Lauren's footsteps near as she scurried inside my bedroom with a shopping bag. "I went to the mall real quick and found this!" she rushed, pulling out a black laced dress. "Its flowy, if that's even a word, and will fit you perfectly and your cute baby bump!"

"Try it on!" Alexa urged.

I slipped on the dress and it felt right. It wasn't too short or too long, it also wasn't super tight. I walked in front of the mirror and twirled from side to side feeling myself grin.

"It's beautiful-ahh!" I bent down slightly, rubbing my stomach.

"Oh my god," Lauren gasped. "Was that a contraction?"

I straightened my posture and shook my head. "It was just a little cramp, that's all. Probably Braxton Hicks."

"What's that?" she questioned, cocking her head to the side.

"It's a sign of preterm labor," I explained.

"But you're past your due date. So it isn't Braxton hicks," Alexa pointed out. "Shit! What if you go into labor today?"

I paced back and forth around my bedroom, suddenly feeling nervous. "I'm not ready!" I felt another pain in my lower abdomen and I let out a deep breath.

"Ev..." Lauren and Alexa trailed off, simultaneously.

"I'll be fine," I told them.

I lied. I'm absolutely terrified. I don't know what to expect in the next few hours but all I want to do is walk that stage and receive my diploma. I didn't go to school for twelve years for nothing.

We finished getting ready and I struggled to strap on my wedges so Lauren crouched down and did it for me.

"Thanks," I said, earning a giggle from her.
