Dedicated to HoranMoments_ <3

Zayn

Safaa came back with the EpiPen just in time. Evelyn was now able to control her breathing since she reaction has started to decrease but the side affects of the EpiPen caused her to feel weak, cold and jittery. She laid on the sofa with a blanket while my mum and Noah sat by her side.

"Is mommy okay?" Ella asked.

I nodded and picked her up to sit on my lap. "Mommy is doing just fine."

I've never felt so frightened in my life. The first time I've witnessed Evelyn go through this was a long time ago at our rehearsal dinner. Thankfully, her father is a doctor was able to take care of her in the comfort of their own home.

I wanted to sue the catering company so fucking much. We've told them repeatedly not to incorporate the things that Evelyn is allergic to and what did they do? They put peanuts in the gravy. Who the hell puts peanuts in gravy?

When the caterer told me that putting peanuts in the gravy gives it a nuttier taste, it took all the power in me not to beat the guys ass to a pulp. No one asked for the gravy to taste like peanuts.

From a distance, I could see Doniya talking to Perrie in the foyer and I carried Ella off my lap and sat her on the sofa.

"Daddy will be right back," I told her and she nodded her in head in response. I approached them and Doniya looked pissed as she tried to talk to Perrie.

"Hey, Zayn," Perrie spoke, twirling her hair with her fingers. "Long time no-"

"What the fuck is wrong with you?" I snapped, cutting her off.

She threw her hands up in mock surrender. "Damn, someone has changed over the years."

"No ones changed, you're just a bitch," Doniya retorted.

Perrie scoffed and rolled her eyes. "Who's side are you on?"

"Why did you do it?" I asked, cutting to the chase. "After my sister has told you that my wife is severely allergic?"

"Your wife," Perrie chuckled. "Wow."

"Perrie," Doniya countered and she sighed in defeat.

"They're vegan cinnamon rolls. The recipe includes soy milk," she explained and I shook my head in disbelief.

"So you knew about my wife's allergies yet you still had the audacity to use soy milk in the recipe?"

"You could have at least substituted the ingredient with something else," Doniya added and Perrie stayed quiet.

"Wow," I breathed out. "You're fucking pathetic."

"Zayn, just let me explain!" She pleaded and I laughed bitterly.

"There's no need for you to explain shit, Perrie. This is the last time I'm ever speaking to you," I responded, coldly, before turning around to join my family in the living room.

"Your wife doesn't deserve you. I do," Perrie continued, making me come to a halt.

"Get the hell out of my house," I heard Doniya say.

"Doniya-" Perrie began.

"I can't believe you. After all the shit you've done, this one has crossed the line. My sister in law's life was at risk tonight because of you."

"I'm sorry!" she exclaimed but my sister opened the front door.

"Leave." She pointed out the door and with that, Perrie was out of our sight. She lout an exasperated sigh. "I'm so sorry, Zayn. I trusted her."

"It's not your fault," I assured her. "Thanks, though. I thought she was your best friend?" I air- quoted the words best friend, fighting the urge to roll my eyes.

"Uh, no. Not anymore. Fuck that. I can't believe she actually tried to hurt Evelyn."

"I knew something was off about letting Ev try the cinnamon rolls because you told me Perrie baked them. But I could never say no to her," I sighed, feeling defeated. "I should've trusted my instincts."

I felt like I was at fault and I couldn't help but feel terrible for letting Evelyn go through this again.

"Hey..." Doniya cooed, softly. "Don't blame yourself. None of this is because of you."

I blinked back the tears as hard as I could. "It just scared me so much, Doniya. I thought I was going to lose her."

She wrapped her arms around me, hugging me with comfort. "Evelyn will be just fine. Go on back to her." She lightly pushed me forward.

I entered the living room and noticed that Ella was fast asleep in Noah's arms while Ash was cradled in my dads. My mum stood up front sitting beside Evelyn with a worried look on her face.

"I heard you guys arguing. Is everything okay?"

I let out a deep breath and nodded. "Turns out, Perrie put soy milk in the cinnamon rolls even though she knew that Evelyn was allergic to soy."

"Unbelievable," mum huffed. "She is never going to step foot under my roof again."

I snuck a quick glance at Evelyn on the sofa and felt gutted. She looked exhausted in her sleep and all I wanted to do was hold her.

It's as if my mum could read my mind because she took my hand and led me back to where Evelyn was laying. I knelt down beside her and felt hot tears stream down my face.

"I'm sorry you had to go through all this, baby," I whispered softly, caressing her cheek.

I tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear and sighed in defeat. Her soft breathing made me feel reassured and I thanked my lucky stars above for this strong girl of mine.
