I came home just in time to get ready for Doniya's birthday dinner at my parents. I recognized a pair of shoes by the front door and remembered that Evelyn picked up Noah from the airport today. He'll be staying in London with us for quite some time.

He approached me with a hug and a pat on the back. "Long time no see, bro."

"Back at ya," I replied. "Glad you're on summer break, yeah? And how was your flight?"

He nodded. "Definitely. And it was the longest flight ever."

I noticed a bottle of beer in his hands and let out a chuckle. "I bet. Glad you're here, lad! Makin' yourself at home?" I nodded towards the bottle.

"Yup," he said, laughing. "I need a drink, seriously."

"You'll be able to at my sisters party," I told him and checked the time on my phone. "My girls and Ash are ready?"

"Yeah. They're upstairs."

"Okay, I'm gonna go get washed up real quick and we'll leave in an hour or so."

"Alright, man," he waved, turning the corner that enters into the living room.

After taking a quick shower and putting on a decent outfit, we all piled into the car and made the drive to my parents house. I slid my hand across Evelyn's thigh as my thumb lightly grazed her skin. She placed her hand on top of mine before I brought it up to my lips to kiss it.

"PDA!" Ella exclaimed.

"Yeah, what Ella said," Noah added, teasing us.

Evelyn and I let out a laugh and I kissed the back of her hand again, making Ella squeal.

We've arrived at the house, got the kids out of the car, walked up the driveway and to the front porch. I opened the door, letting them in first before I followed behind, holding Ash in his car seat.

"Ella!" My mum crouched down and held out her arms. Ella ran to her for a hug and a kiss.

"Hi, grandma!" she greeted right after, before darting towards the area where all the kids were.

My mum giggled and wrapped her arms around Evelyn for a hug as well. "How have you been?" She asked her.

"Great," Evelyn replied with a grin. "Ash is teething, though. He's been cranky all day."

"Can I hold Ash, please?" Waliyha begged, anxiously. I chuckled and unbuckled Ash from his car seat and carried him out and into her arms.

"Aw," mum pouted, sneaking a glance at Ash. "Have you tried refrigerating his pacifier? It helps soothe his gums."

"Yeah, that's what I did when Ella was teething, too. He's also into his toy," Evelyn said, pointing to the rubber teething toy that Ash was gnawing on.

"Good," mum smiled before turning to me. "There's my boss boy!"

I chuckled, leaning in for a hug. "Hey, mum."

She asked me about the office and how the company is going and I told her that everything is going quite smoothly.

"I'm proud of you," she told me.
