65. Twitch

Half an hour later I slammed the door of our apartment closed behind me and the apartment smelt amazing. The fuck? "Anna?" I asked. "In here!" She yelled from the kitchen. When I walked in she was baking cookies with my mom. "Hey?" I said. It came out more as a question. "We thought you deserved some cookies because you won and everything. I snorted and sat down on the kitchen counter. I have to tweet this. I opened Twitter on my phone and saw a billion notifications. I scrolled through them and saw that almost all of them were people congratulating me. It seriously warmed my cold heart. I tweeted:

@SkylerMitch Thanks everybody for voting! Last night was definitely the best night of my life and I can't thank you enough!

@SkylerMitch Came home and my mom was baking cookies with @Scottanna "You deserve some cookies because you won the Voice." :')

"I have an interview tonight with Today. And tomorrow morning one with Disney." I said. "Already? My little girl is famous now. Come here." She said and hugged me tightly. Anna was chuckling while eating from the batter, using my mom's distraction. "How late?" Anna asked. "8pm. Oh, I also have a manager now. His name is Fender and he's really cool." I said. "I'd like to meet that man." My mom said with narrowed eyes. I chuckled. My mom isn't overprotective but... "Well, if you come to the interview I can introduce him to you." I said. "No, I can't tonight." She said. "Why not?" She was silent for a while. "I.. have... I'm going shopping with Eve." (Anna's mom) I shrugged. "Okay. Need any help with the cookies?" I asked. "Nope. I'll finish it up and you two start a movie or something." She said and I nodded. "I'm more in the mood for Wii actually." Anna said. "Yea, me too. Wait, we're going to make my mom play Mario Kart." I said. Her head shot up and a grin made it's way on her face. She started the wii while I grabbed three Wii controllers and three steering wheels. "Wait, I'm gonna film it." She said and put her phone next to the tv, so the camera had the whole couch in view. "Wait, let's livestream on Twitch!" I said. "Omg yaa!" She said and ran to her room, probably to grab her camera. I ran to my own room, to grab the device where you can film your tv screen with. I hooked everything up and Anna did the same. "Here's my phone. Go tweet it." I said while throwing my phone to her. I grabbed my laptop and hooked the camera and the tv to it and logged in on Twitch. "Done." She said. I started the live stream and there weren't many people yet. "You sent the link?" I asked. "Doing right now." She said while typing away on my phone. "Jup." She plopped down on the couch and gave me my phone back. I looked at the tweets she sent.

We waited for a few minutes before starting it, so there are going to be some people. Within 10 minutes there were already 400 watchers. Wow. "Let's start?" I asked. Anna nodded. I opened the camera, and you could see me and Anna in the left corner of the screen. "Hey everybody. Anna, my mom and me are going to play Mario Kart in a couple of minutes. My mom has no idea how it works because it's her first time and she doesn't know she's being filmed. I just hope it'll be fun. I think so." I whispered, so my mom wouldn't hear it. "She's baking cookies right now." Anna said and I chuckled. She adjusted the camera, so the whole couch came in view. "Welcome to our humble abode." Anna said while plopping down on the couch and selecting Mario Kart already. People were talking and talking and talking in the 'chat room' on Twitch and I chuckled while reading some of them. "They're almost done! Have you found a good movie already?" My mom yelled from the kitchen. "Yea, you'll like it." I yelled, trying to hold back my laugh. "Cookies are almost done!" She yelled back. Now people were talking about cookies in the chat room. I chuckled and sat next to Anna on the couch, leaving space so my mom could sit between us. "They smell delicious girls!" We heard my mom rummage through the kitchen and a few minutes later she came walking in with a plate full of cookies. "Ahh sweet!" I said while grabbing a few and stuffing them in my mouth. She sat the plate on the small table and sat down between Anna and I. "What movie did you- Aw hell nah. One of those stupid games? I ain't playing this." She said while standing up. "Come on mom, you'll like it." I said while tugging on her arm so she sat down again. "I'm not killing anyone." I chuckled. "Nono. Just racing." I said. "How does this work?" She said when I handed her the steering wheel and the controller. "I'll select a car and a character for you." Anna and I quickly selected the characters, she chose Baby Bowser and I chose Yoshi. "Which one do you want?" I asked my mom. "I want that girl there." She said. "Wait this one?" I asked and Anna groaned. "What? Is she a bad one?" My mom asked and I chuckled. "No, she's okay." I said and selected Princess Peach for her. Anna and I selected the cars and Anna started the game. "How does this work? What? How?" My mom yelled when it started counting down. "Just press 2." I said and the race begun. "How do I steer?" She said while freaking out. "Just go left or right with the steering wheel. Like in a normal car." I looked at her screen and she was bumping into everything. I chuckled and raced against Anna because my mom was 12th, Anna was 3rd and I was 4th. "Skyler Quinn Mitchell! Tell me right now where I have to go!" She said while tugging at my arm, causing me to ride into the water. "Just follow the road." I said with a chuckle, and the race went on.
