Jack's POV
I'm over this, I'm over you, I'm not gonna waste my life away, this is my Independence Day.

I called Serenity over, fuming.

Those headlines.

Those stupid headlines.

"Serenity and Calum this, Serenity and Calum that."

What about Serenity and Jack for once?

Serenity walked in, smiling. When she saw me, her smile dropped suddenly.

"Jack, is something wrong?" She asked cautiously.

"Sit down." I demanded.

She slowly walked over and sat down next to me. "Uh, what's wrong, Jack?" She asked, fidgeting slightly.

"What were you doing out with Calum the other night?" I asked, smirking. I was so angry I couldn't help but smile.

Serenity sighed. "Oh, it's such a crime to go out with a friend of the opposite gender. We're obviously dating now."

I glared at her. "Then why were you holding hands?" I showed her the photo. She and Calum were walking into a club, holding hands, both of them laughing.

She rolled her eyes. "It was just a little joke. Calum was like, 'look cameras. Let's piss them off.' Then he grabbed my hand. It wasn't serious."

I continued to glare at her. "What was that kiss on the cheek?" I swiped to another picture, this one showing Calum kissing Serenity on the cheek.

She suddenly started blushing. "Oh...well, uh....."

I turned to face her completely.

"Have you been cheating on me?" I asked.

She wouldn't meet my gaze.

"Serenity."

She still avoided me.

I lifted her head so she was forced to look at me.

"Are you cheating on me with Calum?"

She sighed. "Kind of?"

I gasped. "Kind of! You're kind of cheating on me?"

She suddenly got very defensive. "It isn't anything serious. We've just both confirmed that we have feelings for each other, okay? It's not like I went off and married him."

I was shocked. She actually liked someone else while dating me. Seriously?

"Serenity, I thought you loved me." I tried not to sound hurt, but couldn't help it.

"I do, Jack. It's just that...you're a bit boring."

This came as a shock to me.

"Boring? I took you to Paris, Reni! How could you think I'm boring?"

She screamed. "That's the point! You took me traveling so much. It's all we ever did! I just wanted to spend some time inside, at our apartments, together. No cameras, no exotic currency, just us."

I just stared at her in shock. "Fine. If you don't appreciate what I do for you, go be with Calum. I don't need you to be happy. I know someone who will appreciate what I do, way more than you." I finally snapped.

There were tears in Serenity's eyes. "Oh. Fine. Maybe I will go be with Calum. And who would appreciate you more than I do, Jack?" She snapped back.

"Camille." I told her, knowing that Camille had a crush on me.

The last thing I saw was Serenity throw my laptop across the room, and then a blur of beauty and tears race out the door.
