Michael's POV
I never thought you'd leave without a trace
I can't shake this sinking feeling
I know you're not there and I'm barely breathing
Holding onto things I can't replace

So, that was it.

She broke up with me.

Just like that.

I didn't even get to say goodbye.

What do I do now?

We're technically still reserved for each other, so I can't move on and date someone else. Besides, no one could ever replace Julie. She was my everything. Trying to replace Julie would be like trying to come up with a good simile to express replacing Julie. And that's impossible. Because nothing will ever replace Julie.

"Michael?" I heard someone call. It was Luke.

"Yeah." I called back, not really wanting to move.

"What's up?" He asked. He looked slightly worried.

"Julie and I are...two." I told him. I wasn't going to say broken up. Not out loud.

Luke seemed to think about it. "Two?" He finally asked, seemingly at a loss for words.

""We aren't broken up, but we aren't together. Being together is One, being apart is Two. Right now, we are Two." I explained, not looking at him.

I heard him sigh heavily. "At least you have someone." He muttered.

I turned to him. "Luke, you know there are millions of girls out there who would love to date you. Besides, what about that Asparagus girl?"

Luke chuckled. "Her name is Arzaylea. And....I don't know. I have stronger feelings for someone else."

I suddenly bounced on the bed to face Luke.

"Tell me who." I demanded.

"Well....I mean.......Hanna's kind of pretty." He muttered.

I gasped and slapped his arm excitedly, then settled down. "Wait, who's Hanna again?"

Luke burst out laughing. "You don't remember? Blonde? Blue eyes? Incredibly nerdy? Normally seen with a flower crown?" He described.

"So....a genderbent you." I concluded.

"Shut up." Luke snapped.

I smirked. "If you like her so much, just ask her out then. But not how you asked Julie out, please."

Luke blushed. "Fine. Maybe I will."

There was a long, awkward silence.

"This would be the time where Julie would make some sarcastic comment." I noted.

Luke nodded. "It's kind of dead without her here."

"I'm worried about her. She seems so depressed without us. It's almost like we brought her back to life. Almost as if ...."

"As if what?" Luke asked.

"Without us, Julie loses all happiness."
