Nine year old Mitch walked around his house, feeling lonely. Kevin was gone on a business trip that was expected to take longer than a week. Scott and Kirstin, ages twelve and thirteen, were enjoying seventh and eighth grade. They acted liked they were the Alphas and enjoyed every ounce of popularity they received. Only in the fourth grade, Mitch could not understand why popularity was so glamorized and romanticized in today's society. He would rather dig himself into a hole and not come out.
"Mitchell?" Avi yelled, grabbing his bag. The nine year old came running from his room, stopping right in front of his dad. "Esther can't come down today. Do you want to go to the music store?"
"Yes," Mitch replied excitedly, clapping his hands. Tori and Genevieve were and are so sweet towards him. They were very patient and compassionate, not judging Mitch once. "D-do I ne-ee-ed-d to b-bri-ing an-an-ny-th-hing?"
"Nope," Avi answered, popping the 'p'. Mitch nodded as he followed his dad to the car, excited for today.

The music store without a doubt had to be Mitch's favorite place ever. It used to be Scott and Kirstin's favorite place too, but music slowly became something that just was not their thing anymore. They still loved it, but Kirstin got into her dance team at school and focused her time on dance. Scott became interested in writing and poured his feelings onto paper. It was amazing to see what the usually exuberant and outgoing yet emotional and sensitive boy could write. He wrote thousands and thousands of poems over the summer and plastered them all over his room, adoring the new artwork. Of course, Avi was sadden to acknowledge the fact that his older children did not enjoy music that much anymore, but Mitch still loved it. It might change in a few years, but Avi won't care. He just wants Mitch and his other children to find something they love and that's what Kirstin and Scott did.
Mitch walked around the store, admiring every instrument that was organized neatly. A piano stood in the corner, not played for over ten years. Song books were stacked into neat piles, ready to be put away. He then walked by a sign that had weird words on it. He then tilted his head, confused. What does it mean? Is is a person?
"Papa?" Mitch called out, getting avi's attention. Avi walked up to him, looking at the sign too. "Wh-ho-o's Dore Mifa Solatido? A-ar-r-re-e they ni-ice-ce?"
Avi laughed when he realized what his son was talking about. He cleared his throat and pointed at bottom 'Do'.
"These are solfeges, Mitch," Avi answered, putting his finger up to 'Fa'. Mitch nodded, getting intrigued. "They are used in music. They tell us what note to start on."
Mitch nodded as he ran his own fingers on the sign. The letters stared back at him, like they were begging for him to sing them. He cleared his throat and looked up at his dad, preparing himself mentally for his next question.
"Papa? I wa-aa-an-nt-t to be a s-si-in-ng-er. Ca-aa-an-n you h-he-el-lp me?"
"Of course, baby."

Kirstin let out a laugh as her dance friend Ariana followed her. They walked into the Olusola household's kitchen where Scott and his best friend Tyler were sitting down. The two boys were laughing at some joke that was said earlier. Scott smiled when he saw his sister and jumped off his chair.
"How was school?" Scott pondered, grabbing an apple. He rubbed it on his shirt and took a bite from it.
"Good, I guess," Kirstin replied, setting down her dance bag. She stretched and let her bones crack. "Where's Papa and Mitchy?"
"Probably the music store," Scott answered, throwing an apple at Ariana.
The short brunette turned her apple around and sighed deeply, catching Scott and Kirstin's attention. "What's the matter?""Mitch is the matter," Ariana responded, putting the apple down. Tyler nodded in agreement as he jumped off his own chair. Kirstin and Scott shared a look, confused. "I mean, he never gets into trouble, he never gets grounded, yelled at, or disappointed in."
"Exactly," Tyler added, looking at the oldest Olusola child, who looked troubled. "Mitchell is spoiled, more spoiled than London Tipton. Admit it, he is a spoiled little brat who gets everything he wants."
"I don't know what that means" Kirstin replied, raising her eyebrow. Sure, she got grounded more than Mitch, but the reason behind it was that she tends to get herself into trouble. "He's not spoiled. He just stays out of trouble and listens to our parents right away."
"But he never gets in trouble," Tyler spoke up, shaking his head. Scott then looked down at him, their height differences quite different. "Every time I come over, you and Mitch do something and you're the one who gets in trouble with it if your parents don't agree with it."
"You've got a point," Scott murmured, throwing his finished apple away. Mitch never did get in trouble, nor yelled at! "You're right. He never gets in trouble."
"Now that I think about it, he is spoiled," Kirstin added, tapping her chin in deep thought. Mitch is a little spoiled little brat! "Maybe we should call him London 2.0."
"I like that," Ariana giggled, biting into her apple. She then grabbed her bag and went to go upstairs. "Remember; do not let him get what he wants! That only makes your parents want to give him more and give you guys less. Didn't that happen with that Carson guy you aunt dated?"
"I believe so."
"Yep! That's exactly how it happened!"
"Awesome," Tyler responded, looking at his watch. "Hey, do you mind if I spend the night?"
"Spend the night if you want to," Scott answered, hatching a plan in his head. He smiled evilly, tapping his fingers together. "Guys, I've got an idea. After this is done, Mitchell Coby Michael Olusola will finally be grounded."
He then explained his plan and his sister and friends all nodded, getting more excited by the moment. Mitch is finally getting what he deserved!
~~~
"Papa, c-co-ou-uld-d we g-ge-et pi-iz-za-a?" Mitch asked innocently when Avi shut down the store for the day. Avi nodded and smiled to himself when he hear his son let out an excited yell. "T-th-ha-an-nk you!"
"Of cou-you're welcome," Avi replied, remembering Mitch's pet peeve of people not saying 'you're welcome' after thank you. He got more angry over the fact that people said 'ah-uh', but it was good to do. "Ariana and Tyler are coming over to sleep for the night so we should get a movie and ice cream too."
"Yah!"
~~~
After about thirty minutes at the store, the sleepover commenced. Ariana smiled at Avi as she got her slice of pizza.
"Thank you, Mr. Olusola," she replied in a sweet tone. Avi said you're welcome to her and she sat down next to Kirstin. She then brought her hand to Kirstin's ear and cleared her throat. "Is everything ready?"
Kirstin nodded as she pointed towards a bucket of some sort. Scott and Tyler noticed and they nodded their heads as all the junior high students looked at Mitch, who was laughing at something Avi said. The two oldest Olusola children rolled their eyes, annoyed by their brother's innocence and never-grounded-attitude.
"Hey, Mitchy," Kirstin yelled out, catching her brother's attention. He nodded at her excitedly. "Do you want to play a game with us after dessert?"
Mitch nodded his head excitedly and turned back to Avi, talking more about the previous subject they were on. The junior high students all shared evil stares, smiling. Mitchell was about to get it...
No matter what.
