What Happened in Between

(WARNINGS: different forms of abuse)

A month has passed since Mitch got kidnapped. Despite everything that has happened so far, the Olusola family refused to give up. Through every diagnosis, heartbreak, bully, divorce, and everything else, they only got stronger in the end.

Alex and Vic got to be with each other again. It turns out that Carson made her 'play dead' when the officers found her, but they found out that she didn't die. When they found that out,  the girl begged the officers to tell her mom that she died so that no one will get hurt anymore. After that, she got adopted into a nice family and away from Carson.

Both of the families, Ariana, and Travis searched endlessly for Mitch. They looked for clues, signs, letters, anything that could lead them to where Mitch is. It wasn't until the day when Kirstin had to go back to school when every grid changed.

Mitch sat in the corner, shuddering in fear. He is malnourished once again and his eyes look empty. He is only wearing pajama pants that have been ripped, bled on, and cut open from those 'fun nights' Carson had with him. His face is bruised, all thanks to Charlotte. The siblings starved, psychically and sexually abused, and neglected, causing fear to go through him. The door opened, making him scream in fear.

"N-no-o m-mo-or-re-e," he screamed, the tears running down his face. He heard someone laugh and sit down in front of him. He flinched when the hand brushed over his knee slowly and quickly took it back. "W-wh-ha-at-t did I do?"

"You ruined my life," Carson replied, getting out his knife. Mitch closed his eyes when he realized what was going to happen next. "And now I get to ruin yours."

Mitch let out a scream when the pants were cut open. He then began to pray, wanting everything to be okay. He just wants to be happy and healthy again with no fears. He wants to go someplace happier than here.

Please let me be happy again. I don't care what happens to me. Just make me happy. Amen.

Vic sighed to herself as she looked at everyone in the room. These next set of news broke her heart and she can't imagine how everyone will react to it. She took a deep breath and finally told the truth.

"We're calling off the search," she told them, flinching when everyone began to yell and/or cry. She let another tear escape and she let out a shuddery breath. "I'm so sorry. We did everything we could. I was forced to stop it."

"We have to keep looking," Travis begged, his brown eyes filling up with tears. Everyone else turned their attention to him, feeling their hearts break. "If this happened to one of us, he wouldn't take no for an answer."

"I want my baby back," Kirstin began, burying her head onto Ariana's chest. The tears began to run down her face and onto her girlfriend's chest, but Ariana didn't care. Anything to comfort her Kirstin. "He does not deserve this. He's been gone for a month!"

"He is scared," Scott backed up, feeling Alex squeeze his hand. Alex kissed his husband's cheek, encouraging him to continue. "I refuse to give up until we find him."

"He needs to be found," Ariana spoke up, her voice shaking. She sat up, sighing heavily. "He is the sweetest thing. The fact he got kidnapped breaks my heart. If anything else were to happen, I would basically die."

"He's the best brother-in-law ever," Alex pointed out, letting his own tear escape. Scott wiped it away lovingly and nodded at his boyfriend. "I refuse to say he was. I will sacrifice my own life to get him found."

"This is my kid," Avi spoke up, emotion evident in his voice. He let out a shuddery breath, trying to think straight. "I want him back in my arms. He cannot be out in the world by himself. We can not give up."

"I saved him multiple times," Kevin finished off, tears running down his face. He cleared his throat, getting ready to tell the rest. "When he was born, I made sure his family kept him healthy in an environment that was not good for him. When he was four months old, I saved him from a shooter in the hospital his parents got shot and killed at. When he was five years old, I saved him from that lowlife of a man. I want to save him one last time. Even if we find him and he's on the brink of death, I want to save him. He's my little one."

Vic stared at the people in front of her. They cared so much for the boy in front of her. Unfortunately, she had to follow the rules, even I she wanted to help. She was going to say something when the phone rang. She picked it up, hoping for a miracle.

"LAPD, how may I help you?"

"This is Charlotte Kirk. I found Mitchell Olusola. I am turning myself and my brother in. We're his kidnappers."

After thirty minutes of torture and pain, Mitch began to shake. Carson smirked at him, kicking him quickly. Mitch let out a scream when something cracked, allowing the tears to escape and roll down his cheeks. Carson shook his head and took out a gun. Mitch gasped as he tried to move back, shaking even more.

"My favorite part," Carson began, laughing evilly when he brought up the gun. "Any last words?"

Mitch was about to say something when the door opened up, revealing Vic, Mitch's family, Alex, Ariana, and Travis. Mitch began to cry heavily, thanking God.

Thank you for making me happy.

"Put the gun down, Dad," Vic threatened, taking out her own gun. Carson smirked as he shook his head. "Still stubborn, I see? Your sister got arrested."

"Did she tattle?!" Carson yelled as everyone came down the stairs, staring him down. They all flinched when he shot his gun. "I can't believe it! He dare she?! She's a traitor!"

"She did something right," Alex fought back, feeling something hard hitting his head. He fell on the ground as he fainted. Carson smirked as he rose his gun.

"Anybody else?!" Carson yelled, waving it around. Nobody said anything and Carson laughed, turning back to Mitch. "Say your last words."

Mitch looked at everyone, feeling tears run down his face, everyone is pretty much distraught. Mitch let out a shuddery breath and finally responded  with:

"I love you guys. So much."

*BANG*

A/N: Hehehehe...cliffhanger.:3 I'll tell you guys who died, but that'll ruin the element of surprise! Also, three or so more chapters will be over.:( I love you all so much for reading this from the beginning. I love you all and I hope you enjoyed rhe chapter!!!:)
