Mitch walked into the doors of his high school, feeling anxious. He was all alone with no one with. Candice was there so he'll probably hang out with her, but she's a senior. She'll leave and he will be all by himself. He was happy to learn that Mr. Mallark will be his resource teacher though. He had math, science, English, and a whole class were he could just do homework. After a conversation with his counselor, he was told that he will not have to do P.E, but he will have to work in the office his last two years at school, which he doesn't really care for. He got up to his locker and smiled wine Candice walked up to him.

"H-hi C-ca-an-di-ce-e," he greeted while he organized his locker. She said hi back and put her back onto the locker. "H-ho-ow was your su-um-me-er-r?"

"Good, I guess," Candice answered, rolling her eyes. All she did was apply to colleges and had senior photos. "It was just super busy. Oh, I met a girl you might like!"

Mitch nodded his head absentmindedly as he went through his locker. For some reason though, he couldn't imagine himself with a girl. He couldn't really imagine himself with anyone. He could figure out why all this stuff was happening to him at age fifteen.

"Oh, t-th-ha-at-t's n-ni-ice-e," Mitch murmured and closed his locker. The bell then rang, signaling students to go to class. "I'll s-se-ee you l-la-at-ter."

Candice nodded as she walked off to her next class. Mitch turned around and saw a handsome boy a few lockers down. For some reason, the boy seemed...beautiful. Mitch couldn't stop staring at him and imagined himself with him, but he quickly got that thought out of his mind.

What was that?

"Dance team! Sign up for dance team," Ariana yelled, the college student feeling proud of herself. She agreed to volunteer to help students go on the dance team. She smiled when Nash hugged her, looking up at him. "We still got that Mitch kid to take care of."

"I know," Nash commented, shaking is head. That kid really got on his nerves. "Matthew and Mark have a lot plans to commence to embarrass him. This is going to be fun."

Ariana laughed and handed a freshman girl a flyer for the dance team. She grimaced when Mitch came into the cafeteria for club rush and shook her head. She was about to say something out loud, but Nash stopped here

"Not yet," Nash commented quietly, smiling evilly. Ariana nodded as an evil smile spread on her face. "Wait until the time is right."

Oh, he's cute! What, why did I say that? Why am I thinking this? Dang it, Mitch. You're supposed to be singing.

"Okay, class," Mrs. Owens spoke up, catching everyone's attention. They all nodded at their teacher. "Our first concert will be next month so we will be working endlessly on our music. Be prepared. Now, let's sing!"

She was about to play the piano but was then interrupted by the bell. She sighed deeply as she let the students go. Mitch was gathering his stuff together when a boy went in front of him. He looked up to see that it was Tyler, who volunteered to go to the school today. Mitch nodded hesitantly, allowing him to talk.

"I know that I am a sophomore in college now," Tyler began, making Mitch nod once more. What is he going to say? "But I will just like to say that I'm sorry for hurting you when you were nine. I am so dumb. I hope you accept my apology."

"I a-ac-ce-p-t your a-ap-pl-lo-gy," Mitch returned, making Tyler smile. He smiled as he sighed to himself. "Ty, do you l-li-ik-ke b-bo-oys-s?"

"Yes," Tyler answered, nodding his head as Mitch got up to leave for Journalism 2. "Why, what's up?"

"I'll t-te-ell-l you l-la-te-er-r," Mitch promised as he walked off, waving goodbye to Scott's former friend. He couldn't figure out why he has been feeling like this.

What is happening to me?

~~~
"How was the first day of school?" Avi asked as he unlocked the door. Mitch nodded happily as he closed the door. "That's good. Also, Scott and Alex are coming over for dinner. Are your classes okay?"
"Yep," Mitch replied, looking outside at the moving scenery. He admired how the falling leaves looked like a painting. "T-th-ey-y're-e g-go-od-d."
"That's good," Avi repeated, driving into the next street. He then turned to his son, smiling happily. "Your aunt Esther is getting married."
"R-re-ea-ll-ly?" Mitch asked excitedly, feeling happy for his aunt. Over the summer, they talked again and learned that Darien and Esther were living together. Avi had to get a new employee for the music store, but from that, he earned about five employees. "T-th-ha-at's-s a-ma-zi-in-ng!"
Avi nodded, still feeling nervous about his sister. Why did she bail Carson out? She never did specify why she did that. He pulled into the driveway, allowing Mitch to go inside the house while he was left in his thoughts.
"I have some big news," Scott exclaimed excitedly, grabbing Alex's hand. He looked at Alex, who nodded excitedly too. They showed their left hands. "We gave each other promise rings!"
"Wow, that's amazing," Kevin responded, wondering if Scott was ready to receive such a commitment. He's only twenty years old. "I hope you guys stay together for a long time."
"We will," Alex responded gratefully, kissing Scott's cheek. Scott smiled happily, feeling loved and protected. "I would never leave him."
Avi smiled when he remembered Kevin saying that after they said they got engaged. They were both so young. They had just graduated college. They still loved each other and refused to leave each other. He held Kevin's hand and Kevin smiled at him.
During that time, Mitch sighed to himself. He wants this, but not with a girl. He wants it with a boy, but he was afraid to admit it.
What is wrong with me?
