Chapter 5

"Wait what?!" I said as the bus started to leave the school. "I know right.. But honestly I don't understand" May said with a slim face.
"What are you talking about?"
"I'm ugly and very unsocial, how can a guy like him think a girl like me is hot"

"Wait what?! Why do you think your ugly?? You're the prettiest girl I've ever seen."
"I know but.."
"What exactly did he say?"
"He said that he's been having a crush on me for awhile and.."
"Did you say yes? And did you.."
"Okay stop it." May interrupted. "I said I would think about it"
"Wait what?!"
May rolled her eyes. "Are you ever going to stop being surprised".
I blinked. I can't believe she was saying this. Does she not like her body. Why does she have little faith. I put my arms on her shoulder "May, you're the prettiest person I ever met and I think it's unfair for you to think of yourself poorly. Have faith in yourself and this could be your chance to show that a freshman can actually date a sophomore." I said with a smile.
"Thanks. That helped but I don't know. I have to think about it" she replied. I nodded my head and right as I about to say another word, the bus stopped at my bus stop. I stood and waved May "text me" I said. She nodded back and I got off the bus. I was thinking about my day. Mr.Adams, Maddison talking to Mason, Mason being nice and giving me a spot as office aid, Rick asking May out. Too much in one day. As I approached my house I grabbed my key and headed toward the front door. I could already hear my dog, Duke, inside. He was barking because he could tell that I was near. I love Duke, even though he can be a pain-in-the-ass he's the best dog I could ever ask for. As I unlocked the door, I saw Duke running toward me. Duke is a mixed retriever (Gold and Cream Retriever). I petted him for like 5 minutes and went to the kitchen to get him some food. I saw my mom in the kitchen as I walked in. "Hello honey! I'm making rice today"
"OMG I love rice! Thanks mom!" She smiled and I grabbed Duke's food from the cabinet. As I was feeding Duke I thought of my mom. You see when I said that my mom was crazy, I wasn't kidding. Her and my dad always get into fights. It's always something stupid and she thinks she's by herself in the world. She also thinks my dad is cheating on her, this one time she got mad because my dad was a few minutes late. She keeps thinking there are girls in his life, if you know what I mean. Well I guess you could say my dad is bananas too because he brought my mom to a mental hospital. He also calls the cops on her because everytime they fight, she always is physical and it just gets so bad. Half the time, I wish my brother Brian was here. But he's in college so he doesn't come home until the weekends. Honestly, I don't even know what to do with my mom. She's so bipolar and it's so annoying. Sometimes I wonder if she actually is mental. And this is how I get no homework done. Because I have my parents in the house yelling at each other, and throwing stuff at each other. I went to my room and was on my phone for quite awhile. I kept texting May and supporting her. I honestly don't know why she's so down on herself. Then I thought to myself, she has never been asked out before. Is this her first time? Is she scared? Before I could mention to her about it, I looked at the time and noticed that it was 5;30. My dad was suppose to be here 15 minutes ago. I didn't want to be in the house to when he gets home and my mom starts spazzing. I got up and decided to go to the park. Maybe Mason was there, he usually plays basketball with his friends. I quickly brushed my hair and put on a cute blue and black skirt with a red top. I put on my pink tennis shoes and went outside while waving bye to my mom. I had a skateboard that I would ride around the neighborhood so I grabbed my skateboard and skated there.
