As I rolled in the park, I saw Mason and his friends playing basketball. Rick, Jack, and John. They were his jock friends and he always would hang out with them. Right as I approached them, I saw Maddison sitting on he bench. "Cmon Mason!" Maddison yelled. "You can win!" I looked over and it look like Mason and Rick vs Jack and John. I started walking slowly, I wasn't about to turn back to my parents fighting at home but I was not going to deal with Maddison right now. Maddison stood up, dammit she noticed me. "Well" Maddison smirked. "Jessica, what brings you here"
I gave her a nasty look. Does she think she owns me ?
"I'm just here to chill, just leave me alone" I was trying to avoid a fight but she was making that hard. As Maddison approached me, Mason came between us.
"Hey!" Mason said. "Jessica right?"
I nodded.
"Do you play basketball?"
"Not really"
"Oh." He noticed he skateboard. "Oh cool! I never knew you rode a skateboard.."
"That's because only the losers ride them" Maddison laughed. I gave Maddison a nasty.
"I think that's a little too far Maddison.."
"Oh yeah!" I interrupted, still talking to Maddison. "At least I don't look I don't look like a clown. There's a fine line between wearing make up and looking like you got gangbanged by Crayola." I was about to snap my fingers but that would have made it worse. Maddison gasped and Mason looked at me in shock. I just realized what I said and I cannot believe I said that. Is it because I'm stressed? What's happening to me.. "Mason I'm sorry..."
"Um I was going to say that you got office aid. So yeah congrats and i guess I'll see you tomorrow." He went back to go play basketball and all I heard was Maddison snickering. My face was drowned in embarrassment. For the rest of the evening I was cheering the boys on in there game of basketball. I have to admit Mason looks so hot when he's playing. My thoughts were interrupted by the basketball that hit my leg. Rick ran to me "Sorry, it's a rebound"
"Yeah" I grabbed the ball and gave it to him.
"Jessica, I'm pretty sure May told you"
I looked at him in fear. I was scared that May might turn him down.
"I honestly don't know. I hope things turn out well"
"Okay." Rick said. He had a doubtful face and I felt sorry for him.
"Although" I said before he left. "I hope you know what your doing. I hope you know that she's the prettiest girl alive and that she's smart and funny and I don't even know if you deserve a girl like her but I do know is that you better treat her right because if she says yes and if you turn into a bitch then I'm not supporting this relationship.."
"Of course" Rick nodded with a smile. "Ya know, there's a reason why I asked her out"
As Rick was finishing his statement, the boys were complaining about the ball. "Coming!" Rick yelled and went back. As the evening progressed, the game was getting more intense each minute. Finally, the game was finished.. 129-134 Rick and Mason won. As the boys got a little break and was about to leave, Mason came up to me.
"So how was the game"
I tried to say the words but all that came out was "I..um..guess...akejaksj"
I stopped myself before I could make more mumble jumble out of my mouth. Mason laughed and said "it's getting dark, shouldn't you get ready to go home?" To be honest, I didn't want to go home. I didn't want to hear my parents fight but I nodded to just get over with it. I was about to ask him if Maddison and him were dating but a word couldn't come out. As Maddison and Mason and his jocks were about to head home, I stood up and just stared at the basketball goal.
"Um" I looked over and saw Maddison. Mason and his friends were getting ready to leave..
"Stay away from Mason. Do not lay eyes on him" Maddison said strictly and firmly. " Do not talk to him, don't even talk about him. He doesn't like you and he will never like you and your dorky smelly self. You belong in the dumpster, not with Mason!!" And then... She stormed off.
