Chapter 11

As I walked throughout the hallways, looking for Rick, I couldn't help but notice the shiny poster on the bulletin board.

Votes for the Fall Queen. Who do you think should be a runner-up?

It was a poster but under the bulletin board was a table... A girl sitting in front of the table...
"Hello!" The girl said. "My name is Julia and I'm here helping out the votes for the Fall Queen.."
"I'm sorry" I smiled. "I'm not interested.."
"But don't you think someone is deserving enough to at least be a runner up for the.."
I started walking to her... What if I voted for May. She could really use it, especially of what she thinks of herself.
"Okay fine!" I said. "How do I apply a person.."
"Oh!" she giggled. "Just take this piece of paper and pen.." She handed me the things and I wrote May's name.
"Alright!" I said. "Here ya..."
"Thank you so much!" She took the paper and put it in a box.
I walked off with a smile.. A lot of people will no doubt vote for her because of her beauty. Although Julia seemed a little perky... Was she a sophomore? I had no clue but she looked way to old for a freshman and way to young for a senior. I kept walking down the halls trying to spot Rick, I was trying to think of his schedule but I wasn't his stalker, May was..apparently.
Just then i saw Mason... Maybe he knows where Rick is. I ran up to him finding Maddison by his. When she spotted me, she pushed Mason and started walking towards me. I stopped, what did I do?!
"Jessica" Maddison said scarily. "I swear to fucking hell, if you mess with him I will ruin your life, I will destroy your future and I will make sure that it's so bad that you'll get homeschooled because.." She stomped her feet in rage. "I hate you.." Then she stormed off. I chuckled in my heart because I actually can do something that bothers her and it gives me power. But.. What confused me is why. Did she have a crush on Mason? Speaking of Mason, he walked up to me..
"What did Maddison say?" He asked. He had his hands in his pocket, his hair was as beautiful as ever and his green stripes black shirt was just adorable.
"Umm..." I decided to skip the answer. " I was wondering if you knew where uh..."
I was so distracted by his hotness that I forgot my question.
"Where?" Mason chuckled.
I shaked my head. "Right. Where Rick is?" I was so glad I got that sentence out.
"Oh that's easy. " Mason pointed toward the right. "He's right there"
I turned around and was relieved to see Rick near the gym doors. But as I scanned his surroundings.. I saw May walking toward him. Oh hell no... I ran up to her so fast, I felt like a track star.
"May Castell!" I yelled across the hall. "If you think what I think you're doing you better stop right there."
May stopped walking and turned around. She looked confident but I saw her eyes and they looked like she cried just recently.
"May.." I said quietly. I was scared I got her mad or something.
"Jessica if you let me..." May tried saying but I interrupted her saying " Listen, okay? I can't let you do this! I can't let you say no to him... Just think about it!"
"But Jess..."
"And I know I haven't been the most supporting friend but it's only because I love you.."
"I know and.."
"And I figured out that maybe you were in some rough spots and I apologize if I couldn't have been there for you. I feel bad because I never really realize how sad you look until now.."
"It's okay Jess..."
"But just listen." I held her hands. "If you go to Rick and say no, right to his face. It's going to leave a mark. Maybe a mark of regret for you and an awkward moment between y'all. And I hate to see my best friend crying because she's complaining that she should have said yes. And I think.."
"Oh my gosh Jessica, you are such a blabber mouth!" May laughed. I was confused, I thought she was mad at me. I guess she noticed my puzzled face because she said " I love you Jessica and I know. I've been thinking about your words, and I decided to say.."
I lifted my toes in delight because I knew what she was going to say.
"...yes!" She jumped in joy. I almost screamed but I looked around me and realized there was still people around me so I did a silent squeal. "Oh my gosh, May!"
May hugged me. "Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go accept a proposal" she winked at me, then she walked off.
I stood in the middle of the hallway as I watched May talking to Rick. She nodded and said a few words and then Rick hugged her. I almost screamed when I did but what I saw made me want to scream as loud as I can. She raised her feet and kissed him. It wasn't a long make out, that's just gross. It was a simple kiss, and I was so excited. I ran up to May and hugged her.
"Ahh, I'm so proud of you!" I squealed. I was so happy for her and I can't believe this is happening.
"Yeah thanks!" May replied. "But I have to get to class so see you guys later." She hugged Rick again and started walking off.
I looked at Rick, he was blushing.
"Um Rick.."
He looked at me. "Yes?"
I looked at him in comfortably. "Um well you see, I'm suppose to talk to you and say that Luke sent me and..."
"Oh my gosh" he raised his hand to me, and shook his head. "I got to get to class, see ya"
"But Rick, I have.."
"Not now Jessica" he looked annoyed at me, then he walked off. I was confused. What did I do?!
