Ash's POV

Finally, after what seemed like years had passed, the school bell rang out, it's shrill call signalling the end of one of the most excruciatingly dull days Ash had ever had to endure. Within seconds of the bell's metallic ring resonating from every surface in it's path the hallways were bustling with students, all of them hurrying to get through the immense main gates that headed the school, eager to start their weekends.

Amongst all of the pandemonium that was ensuing was his Angel, fighting to get through the buzzing crowds of people, her small stature playing against her as she flung her elbows around trying to make a pathway for her to get free.

"Need help there Angel?" Ash spoke in hushed tones as he approached her from behind, again giving her no warning to his arrival, to which she seemed incredibly displeased.

"No I'm fine thank you very much" She snapped, her cheeks blushing slightly, adding a rosy tint to her face, which only highlighted the beautiful dusting of freckles that adorned her face, spreading from her nose and across her cheeks.

"Well it doesn't look like it to me Angel dear" Ash remarked, quirking his eye brow slightly awaiting her reply, which he knew would again be an angry one.

"What you think that just because I’m a girl I can't fend for myself is that it?" She questioned, coming to an abrupt stop, causing everybody around her to stumble slightly before picking themselves back up and working their way around the pair.

"No, that isn't what i meant at all. I meant because you're quite small it must be difficult to navigate through these huge waves of people" Ash replied, smirking slightly, leaning closer so that his breath was tickling her neck as he spoke.

"That's still quite demeaning you know?" She snapped back, her lips forming into a pout as she jutted out her hip, placing on hand on it just for effect. Ash struggled to keep his composure at this. His little Angel was quite befitting, as he liked to say, when she was angry, it made her look all the more cute to him, her small figure trying to stand up to his rather tall and broad one.

"I'm sorry Angel, i didn't mean to cause you any offence" He replied, trying to hide his laughter with a cough.

"I bet you bloody are" She grumbled "Oh shit!" She exclaimed as she checked the time on her phone, "I'm going to be late!" She continued to mutter to herself, as she turned around and began to walk away. What's this? Was his Angel leaving him without so much as a goodbye? Well he couldn't have that now could he?

"Why are you in such a hurry Angel?" He asked, using his vampire attributes to walk at an inhumane speed to catch up with her at the gates.

"I have to pick up my brother from school and I'm gonna be late now" She cursed underneath her breath but Ash still caught it "No thanks to you, bloody git"

"Why can't your Mum pick her up?" He asked curiously, genuinely wanting to know more about her.

"Oh she has to work late most nights, so I pick Joey from school and make his tea, makes it easier for her y'know?" She confessed, being her usual open self, one of the many reasons Ash was drawn to her.

"Would you mind if I walked with you?" He asked

"Uhm, sure why not?" She beamed up at him shaking an unruly curl away from her face "Although I don't know why you'd want too, Joey can be pretty hard to handle" She chuckled as she led the way.

“I'm sure he can't be that bad can he?” Ash replied, earning a look from Rosie which said otherwise.

Fifteen minuets had barely passed when they arrived at the primary school where Ash learned Joey had moved up to in the past year, meaning that he was, by his estimation he would be around five years of age.
