There was only a week left until Christmas and the run up to it had been hectic to say the least. Rosie had been running around frantically for the last few weeks not only revising and then taking the last exams before Christmas, but also finding the perfect presents for each of her friends. She had successfully bought presents for everyone, apart from the most important person in her life, Ash. Rosie was at a complete loss as to what to buy Ash, which she knew sounded utterly stupid as being his girlfriend she should just know, with pure instinct what he would like for Christmas, however she could not for the life of her come up with the perfect present, and until she did so she could not rest properly, as a half-hearted attempt at a present just wouldn’t do.
She had begun thinking that maybe some records for his already plentiful collection, to which she later found proved more difficult than she had previously thought, not only because his favourite artists music wasn’t sold much in many shops anymore, but also because he seemed to have most if not all of the records from said artists already stored in grand spectacle of a house. And so that plan had failed miserably. Which then led Rosie onto thinking about buying him some new piano music as she knew that he adored to play whenever he could get the time too, this too however proved to be a rather impossible tasks as she again hit the wall of Ash already having hundreds upon thousands of sheets and books of piano music stashed away in his glorious collection. Thus leaving Rosie with no more ideas apart from measly ones such as some new jeans or a new jacket, which she concluded just would not do, as it wouldn’t be as sentimental a gift as she had originally planned.
Ash had continually insisted that he didn’t want or need anything for Christmas from Rosie, that just spending it with her was present enough, Rosie knew he actually meant that, from the bottom of his heart, she could just feel it within her, howsoever she so wished to purchase him a present that would bring joy to him on Christmas day, and would also mean a whole lot to him, as she wanted to show him truly just how much he meant to her as he did with her every single day.
“Rosie, Ash is here!” Joey shouted from downstairs as he readied himself for school also,
“Coming!” Rosie replied, grabbing her bag and phone in haste, checking her reflection in the mirror one more time, brushing her fingers through her wild unruly curls trying her best to tame them, which was of course much to her avail, as per usual, before racing down the stairs to greet her handsome boyfriend, who stood waiting for her at the bottom of the stairs with Joey at his side, causing her to smile at the incredibly cute scene before her.
“Good morning” Rosie beamed happily, as she bounded down the last few steps, stopping an incredibly small breadths width away from Ash, who smiled happily back at her, making her feel all warm and fuzzy inside as he always did whenever he looked at her.
“Good morning miss cheerful” Ash replied pulling her into a hug, pecking her once on the lips, fully aware that her little brother was in the room, so he kept it respectful, much to his disdain. With her bouncy curls resting on her waistline, and her freckles prominent in the morning sun, he wanted to kiss her until it hurt, but he knew he must not, as that would be terribly inappropriate what with her younger brother only mere meters away.
“Mmm, good morning Ash” Rosie mumbled against his lips, stealing one more kiss before pulling away, and grabbing his hand, “Come on time to get to school, little man” She said to Joey as he stood there making disgusted faces as he watched the two of them ‘canoodle’ as he would call it.
“Thank gosh, I thought you two would never stop being all kissy wissy” He mocked, making kissy faces and smooching noises as he ran to the door.
“Oh shush you, young man!” Rosie shouted after her little brother who just turned round to stick his tongue out at her before racing to Ash’s car and jumping into the back taking his usual seat as he did every morning now as Ash took them both to school every day.
