Asher POV

I could not stop thinking about Violet. There was no doubt that she did not want to be with me now, let alone see me.

I've been camping in my bedroom with Caleb by my side. I didn't want to face anyone. I was ashamed. Nobody would've put their mate through this. It's all my fault.

"Don't worry, bro. I've been there and done that. It hurts, but it will pass on once you find another." He informed. I rolled my eyes. Caleb is a first-class flirt machine and he would never understand the meaning of mates and real love. "At least you didn't get a slap from her. Man, do you remember Rebecca? She was a feisty one." I groaned.

If you ever want to look for relationship advice, never go to Caleb. "Hey, you know what would truly cheer you up?" I only raised an eyebrow at his question. A wide smile stretched across his face, one word said it all. "Hunting." I would always be up for hunting. Fresh blood.

We were in the woods, looking for any live being. Anything. "The wall always has the best treats." He mumbled, sniffing the air. His fangs grew down and he raced towards the victim.

My nose was filled with Violet's scent when I sniffed the air. I mentally slapped myself in the face. Get over her dude! She doesn't like you anymore. I jogged after Caleb, but was hit by a strong wall of Violet's smell.

My pupils dilated. My fangs drew down. My mind could not stop thinking of Violet. My thoughts filled of her beautiful smile. Her crazy laugh. And how her eyes sparkled full of life every time she saw me. Not anymore, Asher. Not anymore.

I found myself trailing off in a different direction. I was sniffing the trees and found her touch all over them. I followed them until I heard some rustling. I paused and saw her silhouette come into view. What was she doing out this late at night? I leaned closer against the tree and held my breath.

Her all black attire made her look even more attractive, how it hugged her perfectly curved body. Her eyes darted from one tree to the other. She froze and stared straight ahead. My heart beat even faster. Had she seen me?

A blur passed from behind me. She was knocked off her feet and landed on the ground with a thud. I ran to her side and saw Caleb sitting on top of her. She didn't even bother to scream since she knew it was us. She groaned and shoved him off her.

Damn, this woman is strong. She stood and straightened up. She stormed off without another word. I grabbed her hand, but she pulled out of my grasp and slapped me across the face with the other hand. I can imagine Caleb laughing his ass off right now. Yup, there's my slap.

I backed off from the heated woman. She was huffing and puffing. Her face had frustration written all over it. What was she doing out here in the middle of the night anyways? I opened my mouth to speak, but before I could, she raised her hand up.

"I do not ever want to see you again. I hate you. Turn and go. You have done enough damage to me." She said in a tone that I have never heard before. Caleb and I backed off. She ran away. I sighed and stared down at the ground. Well, at least it won't hurt as much as the first time around.

"Just let her be. She needs space, but she'll come around." Caleb said while patting my back.

I ignored every word that he said. 'I don't ever want to see you again. I hate you.' Those ruthless words occupied my thoughts instead. Would I have to live my entire life without a mate? I knew that I would not survive that.
