Asher POV

I approached Father, who was walking through the garden with Aidan. "Hey buddy." I lifted him up in my arms. Father gave a warm smile.

"What have you been doing boy? I can smell Violet's blood all over you." He asked with an eyebrow cocked. I chuckled nervously and set Aidan down to run off towards a guard.

Father grabbed my collar and pulled it down. "Oh my! You two are imprinted now! Congratulations, son!" A huge smile appeared on his face. I pulled him in a hug. His happiness for me only spread mine even further.

"Thank you Father." I said. He patted my back and nodded. He smoothed my shirt down but avoided my eye contact. Who wouldn't have? His son has officially grown into a man.

"You got yourself a keeper. I knew that she would be the one from the very beginning." That made me even happier. It was obvious that father had accepted her, but hearing him say that made me want to jump for joy. The wide smile on my face did not falter one bit.

"I came here to apologize for not showing up for training." I said after walking in silence. He chuckled.

"I know what you two were doing now. No worries." My face turned as red as a tomato. I still was not used to this. Who knew that a stranger would stumble into my life and claim it. I laughed nervously while rubbing the back of my neck. I could actually get used to this lifestyle. Violet and I. Together.

We chatted the rest of the time about Caleb being defeated by father. This old man is tough and I love how strong he is. He's my inspiration. He is a great king and I hope to follow in his footsteps. He has done many great deeds in the vampire kingdom.

Not much later, I excused myself to tell Mother the news.

"Oh Asher! I'm very glad that you two are imprinted now. I don't know why I was being so hard and rude to her in the beginning, but I did apologize. I will make sure to be the mother that she never had." Once she said that, I looked at her with a big question mark over my head. Her face blanched and her eyes were as wide as ever. "Oh dear. I wasn't supposed to say that." She mumbled and turned to walk away, but I grabbed her arm.

"No, mother. Please do tell me. I want to know." Her eyes flickered to any object by me. The wheels in her head was spinning. She huffed and stood there tapping her foot slightly. We stood for the longest time ever before she ushered us to a couch. My patience was running very thin.

"Two weeks ago when Violet found out that she is the heiress to the alpha, she denied it and blurted her past out. Caleb, your Father and I all heard of it, but we weren't sure if you have heard of the story yet." She paused for a bit.

"Her mother passed away when she was a toddler; since then, her father has been abusing her every evening." Once those words came out of her mouth, I felt anger rise but also the sympathy for Violet.

The two mixed and danced together in my body. It felt strange to feel this combination. I would never dare lay an unloving hand on her. It would kill me. I have to fix this daddy issue of hers.

"So that is the reason why she didn't run towards home the night she escaped, because she was confused and didn't want to face her father." I put two and two together. She never felt homesick because there was no home to run to. I will make sure to deal with her Father soon enough.
