Asher POV
The contour of her face was beautifully highlighted in the moonlight. She takes my breath away every time I look at her. She must've not known that I was observing her since she kept on gazing at the stars. How could someone hurt something so breathtaking?
She finally swerved her head in my direction with a bright smile. Do you see that big sparkling star to the right? She asked. I nodded. That's us. We will never stop gleaming and shining bright through the night. Our love will be larger than the size of the sun! I laughed at her cuteness, admittedly, it was cheesy, but adorable.
I lay closer to her until our hands were molded together. I love you. I told her. She pecked me on the cheek. Caleb made retching noises in the background. I jabbed him in the ribs. "Just wait until you find your mate. You'll be all lovey dovey as well." Caleb shook his head reluctantly, what a baby. He will have to commit sometime in life. Being in love gives an amazing feeling. I should personally know that.
Hopefully he would stumble upon a lovely lady, like I had with Violet. Our first encounter had been unfortunate but we would not be here if it weren't for it. I could still remember the feeling of her soft skin beneath me. I closed my eyes and dreamed of her existence beside me for the rest of my living. Caleb would succumb to having a mate and he would enjoy the attached feelings that came with it. We laid in silence and listened to the bugs chirp and the night buzz away with the darkness.
"When can I come back to my hometown and visit my old friends?" Violet asked as we lay in bed. I groaned and opened my eyes slowly.
"Whenever", I grumbled and closed my eyes again. She wiggled in my arms with excitement. Her heartbeat accelerated and I could tell that she wanted out of my grasp, but we needed shut eye for another upcoming day. I pulled her tighter and fell back to a deep sleep.
She jumped on me. I grunted and rolled over. Damn, this girl is heavy. She was straddling me and looked down at me with a wide smile. The tips of her hair tickled my face. I grumbled nonsense beneath my breath. I need darkness. Why did she have to open the blinds?
"I wanna go see my friends today! Please please please!" It was adorable seeing her act like a little child, but it was way too early for me to be dealing with this right now. The sun was barely rising and I need my beauty sleep. I groaned again and hid my head under the pillow. "Ash. Ash. Ashy." She poked me each time she said my name. I pretended to snore. She sighed in frustration then got up. I sighed in relief at the weight being lifted. It was definitely too early for me to be sufficing something of such weight. I could turn out sore for training later. "If you won't let me go, then I will go with Caleb." My eyes snapped open. No way is she going with Caleb. She's mine.
"Nope, I'm awake now." I sprang out of bed and got ready in a split second. She wore a smirk in satisfaction the entire time. I rolled my eyes. I would rather loose sleep and spend the day in the city with her than allow Caleb to escort her.
I grabbed a pair of keys that had hardly ever been used. She raised an eyebrow.
"You own a car?" She exasperated in disbelief. Her eyes were wide in wonder. I'm sure she would be surprised at the sight of a car after so long away from civilization. I laughed sarcastically and nodded.
"Yup. I can drive it too." I made an exaggerated hand motion which resulted to a in the chest. I chuckled and walked after her. Did she even know where the garage was? I smirked knowingly until she gave up and allowed me to lead the way. My little sarcasm and mockery made her mad and face turn red. I was definitely not complaining at the red blush.
When I opened the garage, located on the side of the castle, her jaw dropped to the ground and her eyes widened. Her expression was priceless, which is why I loved it so much. I smirked at her and walked to the car on the far end of the garage.
I threw her the keys. She caught it in surprise then started shaking her head. "I couldn't drive this." I lifted an eyebrow. Her stammering supported her cuteness.
"Can you drive?" She nodded.
"Yeah, I can but this car is too precious." I shrugged and climbed into the passenger seat. We would not get anywhere unless she climbed behind the steering wheel. I waited patiently until she huffed and sat on the smooth leather seat with a fiery attitude. I bit my lip from laughter. I am enjoying this all too much. She woke me up so I get to tease her all day.
The sound of the Maserati engine starting was like music to my ears. The car purred under us. Her hands were shaking. She held onto the steering wheel for dear life. We pulled off the property and turned onto the dirt road. We soon approached a paved road that weaved and eventually connected to the city. She sped faster and faster with the windows rolled down. Her beautiful brown hair flew in the wind. "This is so fun." She said with a wide smile. She accelerated several more times and it felt like my heart would jump out of my chest. It surprised me how well she took control of the vehicle.
We came to a stop in front of a university. Few students eyed the car as we approached closer to campus. She pulled to a stop near a back door. She knew that class would be ending soon, which meant that her friends would be walking to a local diner. We waited patiently.
I put my shades on and gave her a pair. We had matching Ray Bans. She rolled her eyes and put them on. She was getting antsy and could not stand still. I adored her adrenaline. She passed the feeling on to me and I smiled. How would her friends be like? Were they like her charming self?
I leaned against the car as I watched her approach the front door anxiously. About five minutes later, the bell sounded and as soon as it did, people flowed through the doors and stared at the car. I smirked and kept my eyes on Violet.
Suddenly, two people from the crowd emerged and ran up to Violet to embrace her. She hugged them back. They were a very happy trio, even Violet's happiness warmed my heart. I stood back and let her enjoy her reunion. They pulled back and Violet led them closer to the car and I.
"Ash, I want you to meet Cameron and Jillian." I nodded towards them, they waved to me with a smile. They looked at Violet with a 'who is he' look. Then Cameron walked up to the car and gasp.
"Oh my goodness, Vi! You didn't tell me that you owned this car! I saw the car pull up and I just about melted into the seat!" He was giggling like a little girl. A final squeal earned a slight laugh from me. "Vi, dear please tell me that Ash is spoiling you." He waved his hand in front of his face. "This is like a happily ever after story." Violet and Jillian laughed, even I did a bit.
I could see why Violet likes this guy, he's quirky and bubbly. Just wait till he finds out that I'm a prince. I told Violet. She laughed and shook her head. "Darling, can we go for a spin? Please please. I want to feel the wind in my hair." Violet looked at me for approval, but I really didn't mind. I shrugged at her with a smirk. Anything to make her happy. Cameron was doing a sweep-through of the car. His face resembled a little kid in a candy store. I chuckled at his never-ending reactions.
I turned to see that Miss Jillian and Violet were talking in very hushed voices and the look that they were giving me was unsettling.
