Violet POV

The birds chirped through the windows. There was a slight patter of morning rain. I looked up to the handsome face. His breathing was rhythmic and gentle. I stared at his long eyelashes and how they fluttered. His high cheekbones and sharp jawline accompanied his clean-cut hair very well. Although, his dark hair was a disheveled mess, it made him look even more adorable.

In all honesty, that was the best sleep I've ever had. Now I fully understand the expression, 'sleeping like a baby'. I got up and stretched. Wait, I fell asleep cuddling with him last night? Oh boy, I was supposed to be mad at him.

Well, I guess that emotion subsided. I just hope that he wasn't still mad at me. I didn't mean to cause such havoc. His parents must be worried sick. If we had not spotted this house, then I wouldn't know what we would've done.

The old man was in the kitchen washing  dishes when I went for a glass of water. "How was your night?" He asked after a while. I stood and watched him. I shrugged.

"It was alright, I guess." I tried to hide a little-girl smile behind my cup. 'Mhm' I heard from him. I nearly choked on the terrible water. I need myself some blood. A headache began manifesting. I haven't had a serving of blood since before the escaping.

Asher yawned when he entered the kitchen. He grabbed my cup and sipped from it. I just stare at him with my jaw to the floor, while he choked on the poison. He did not just grab something out of my hand. I grabbed it back and hugged it. He chuckled and winked, while snorting and coughing some more. I stare at him until his episode of noises were over. I rolled my eyes at his act. He can be very ignorant at times, but I guess that's what adds to his charming personality.

"What are your kids' plans today?" The man asked with a slight smile. Asher and I looked at each other.

"I believe we have to get back to the castle. Guards are probably scouting these woods as we speak. The sooner we get back, the less lecturing we would get from mother." Asher replied. I sighed and looked at the floor. Oh right, his mother. The only person I fear in the household. I hope we don't get an earful when we return.

I also considered apologizing as well, but I feel as though the queen would laugh and call me a 'wimp'. My initial intention wasn't to come off as a wimp. Maybe freaked out, but that's the most I would ever feel. I would just have to get used to it. This is who I am now, and I am going to have to accept it.

"Hey." Asher said, while lifting my gaze with a finger on my chin. "It's going to be okay. I will play along with your story, whatever it might be, I will be there and support you. I will not have mother treat you like that again. You deserve better." He exclaimed with a sincere smile. Then somewhere in the back of my mind was reassurance that there would still be a chance of having an 'us'. I knew that deep in my heart, my love for Asher was still beating.

I would just have to face his mom, maybe I need to be closer to his family. His little brother and father seemed to like me, so maybe the queen would give me a chance. "Violet? Can I talk to you about something?" Asher asked and glanced at the old man, then pulled me outside. I had a very quizzical look.

"What is it, Asher?" I asked curiously and but my lip in anticipation. He smiled a bit.

"Please, call me Ash." He paused to look at the rising sun. The orange rays illuminated off our faces. His pupils reflected off the shining sun. I smiled as well. This sight is not to be forgotten. How his messy hair blew slightly in the wind and how his eyes sparkled whenever they looked down at me. I will cherish this image of his comfortable self.

"And I would like to talk to you about something very crucial and I do not want you to freak or run away this time." He started. I noticed his tone changed to something more serious. I bit my lip again. "Do you believe in true love and destiny?" I thought about it for a while, then nodded slowly. He reached for my hand. "Do you feel this energy between us?" I nodded once more.

He kept his grasp on my hand and remained eye contact. I looked deep into his rich chocolate eyes. "This means that we are mates. We are destined to be together and what we have is true love." I continued staring at him with my mouth slightly open.

My mind was buzzing, there was too much going on. Just last night, I was proved to be a vampire; then now, I was told that I am destined to be with a vampire prince. I do not know exactly what was happening, but I am done fighting against it. I am willing to accept it. If this is what the Gods wanted, then so be it. Ash didn't seem all too bad, so he wouldn't make my life a living hell. I finally lifted my gaze from his chest.

He was looking at me; he was searching my face desperately as to why I was taking so long to respond. Finally, I nodded with a small smile.

I laughed a bit at his expression. He seemed very shocked when I nodded at the information that he had just told me. "Yes, I will be your mate. I will accept our destiny and I will try to make this love as true as possible." I said.

One of the widest smiles reached his face, he picked me up and spun me around. The entire time I was giggling and squealing like a little girl. His chest rumbled against my hands. I could get used to this. He finally put me down, and our faces were so close to each other that I could feel his breath. His eyes flickered to my lips then back to my eyes.

He dipped down for a sweet kiss. His forehead was rested against mine. His hands cupped around my face; which was heating up and as red as a tomato.

He pulled me in for a tight hug. My arms wrapped around his hard, muscular body.
"I love you, Ash." I blurted out. My eyes were as round as gumballs when I realized what I had just said. I pulled back to look at him. His little dimple shown and he kissed my forehead.

"I love you, Violet."
