Asher POV
Well here goes nothing. I lunged at my father but he reflected my blow with his sword. I can never defeat this old man. He sees my every move, even before me. Oh damn it, that says something about yourself, Ash. Get your head in the game. You can do it. Just look for his next move. You've been battling him each day, so you could predict his next move, it can't be that hard can it?
Actually it was. The old man beat me again. He chuckled and helped me up. I brushed the dry grass off my black attire. I was sweating and frustrated. Another day, another lose.
Caleb approached us waving a white flag to the king. He was about to laugh his ass off. I excused myself from Father and walked off with Caleb. "So how does it feel to be beaten by someone more than twice your age?" Caleb asked, holding an invisible microphone to my face.
"Caleb, not this again." I groaned and rolled my eyes. He gave me a pouty face.
"Come on, Ashy, I'm only joking. You know that." I chuckled and nodded. After a moment of silence, his head perked up with a devious smile. "Have you ever seen chicken sliding through the hallways before?" Oh shit. I knew exactly what he was going to do. I shook my head and ran after him.
With cooking oil and the hens in a cage, we chose one of the main hallways going downhill. I poured the oil until it reached the end of the hallway and curved off to the right. "One, two, three!" We released the chickens. It was absolute mayhem. Feather and clucking noises were all over the place. Caleb shoved me into the group of hens and I was moving down the hall.
I braced myself to knock into the wall before turning. He was charging after me. One small hallway connected to the main one, and just Violet's luck, she stepped on the oil and slid down laying on top of me.
Violet and I crashed into a wall and stopped in a heap of hens and their feather. "Coming in hot!" Caleb shouted. Before we knew it, Caleb charged into us and we were a tangled mess.
"Well that was fun guys! Let's do it again!" Caleb stood and as soon as he did, he landed on his bum. He groaned. Violet was laughing her ass of and I loved it. This was worth it.
The aftermath was not as fun. The three of us were on our hands and knees through the entire night scrubbing the floors and making it super polished.
Once finished, the sun was on the brink of rising and we sat against the wall. "I'm not actually complaining about some dirty work." Caleb said after a while. We both agreed.
"So what other fun things do you boys have in mind?" Violet asked. Caleb and I smirked at each other. We have several ideas up our sleeves. Let's hope she doesn't regret asking. But let's also hope that nobody catches us, other than the nannies. I could not imagine what the queen would have to say about this.
