Violet POV

We showed up later than anticipated. My cheeks could not stop blushing at the glares that our moms were sending our way. I kept my gaze to the floor and hoped that Ash would say something to save me from so much embarrassment. Sensing it, he cleared his throat and simply apologized. Fair enough. That was better than what I had.

We sat down, at the dining table, across from the two ladies. I smiled shyly and waited patiently for someone to initiate the conversation.

"I am very thrilled to see that you have reunited with your mother, dear." The queen's authoritative voice sounded. I smiled widely. I still couldn't get over the fact that mommy was actually here with me.

"But there have been some situations that we need to talk about." Her light brown eyes turned into a darker shade. "What the alpha did to your mother can not be tolerated, but since he is gone now, we must act upon the remaining werewolf community."

I probably had the most quizzical look on my face. I didn't know what she was talking about. I flicked my eyes to Ash and he had his eyebrows furrowed. We were both clearly concerned at an issue that we were not aware of.

"Your mother had been silenced by the alpha to prevent you from knowing that she was still alive. He didn't want anybody to know that she was still alive. He made everyone think that she was human, when she was a good witch." She paused and smiled over to mommy.

My jaw was to the floor. How had the queen managed to get so many answers from mother? So much information was thrown at me all at once. I tried to wrap my head around it when everything started making sense. The reason why I could picture elements and make them come alive. The reason why I could start a fire, mold the water, craft the ground. Everything wasn't because I was a hybrid between a vampire and a werewolf, but because I was also a witch.

I finally looked over to my mom, her eyes were tearing up and she admittedly nodded slowly, without making any eye contact. Hell, I wanted to pour my eyes out too. What dad had done to mom was not acceptable. She didn't deserve this. Her voice was like an angel sent from above. I choked back a sob and put a hand over my mouth. Ash leaned over and pulled me in his arms.

"We need to do something and we need to do it quickly." His chest rumbled as he spoke. I continued gripping his shirt in my fists. I was hurt and seething. They will pay for this. Any werewolf that comes in my way would face my wrath. They have hid a secret from me for years and they will regret it.

Ash sent several soothing whispers into my ear while I dealt with the anger building inside of me. I silently thanked that he was there to calm me.

The meeting ended shortly after, but I was still in a daze. What happened in all those years to mommy, I will make sure that the werewolves pay. I dismissed myself from Ash and the two moms. I needed to be alone and plan for my revenge.

I walk in a trance around the endless marble hallways. Left or right. Left or right. Left. I turned left and started down another wide hallway. My ballet flats hardly made a sound in the empty corridor.

I snapped out of my trance when a muffled screaming came from behind a door. But which one? I spun in a full circle and noted that there were four doors on each side of the hallway. I listened quietly and strengthened my hearing sense. The screaming seemed to be coming from a room on the right.

I walked up to a door and stood closely against it, expecting the worse. I bit my lip and closed my eyes. All the energy focused into my ears and I could hear every movement.

"Keep your mouth shut or you'll spoil my plan." A male voice whispered. Someone was hiccuping from their sobs. There came a yelp and the crying started again. Some shuffling sounded, then silence. I've had enough, so I knocked on the door- more like pounded but I didn't care.
