Pan's POV
I inhaled a deep breath as we reached the Cave, not having been here in a very long time. It wasn't a place I liked to visit, as I'd done some pretty awful things in the past and held people in the Cave, but now that Courtney was in there, I had to return and help her.
We entered the Cave, everyone whispering curiously about it. It wasn't really that fascinating, to be honest. I looked around anxiously, but Echo Cave wasn't very well lit, unfortunately. "Pan?" I heard a voice call from a distance. I then noticed a cage across the cave and a person inside it. "Courtney!" I started to rush to the edge of the cliff, but there was no way across.
"How are we going to get to her?" Rachel asked. I licked my lips and glanced at Courtney in the cage. "I have to tell a secret. My deepest confession. It's the only way across." "Only way across? What, do you sprout wings or something and fly over there?" Angela asked. I glared at her, not in the mood for jokes.
I closed my eyes and sighed before turning to everyone. "When Courtney and I battled, and she won, it was because I let her. I wanted her to have Neverland." I admitted. "What?!" The Boys exclaimed, but before I could reply, the ground began shaking and suddenly, a rock bridge formed, stretching across the cavern, becoming my path to Courtney.
I ran across the bridge and knelt down in front of the cage. "Pan, please get me out of here." Courtney said, looking frightened. I looked at the way the cage was created and knew I wouldn't be able to get her out. Only she could.
"It's enchanted." "What?" She looked as if she were about to cry. "You have to tell your deepest secret. It's the only way you can get out." Courtney looked at me, tears welled up in her eyes, and she sighed. "When we battled, and you went down after I hit you with my fireball, I thought I'd killed you. I was terrified because I never meant for things to go that far, ever, and when I saw you lying there motionlessly..." She paused and licked her lips as I watched her, waiting.
"Watching you just walk away from me was the hardest thing I've ever endured and I hated myself for the banishment. I was so afraid I'd never see you again, and that would hurt me because I...I love you, Pan. I didn't realize it but I always have, and losing you would be like losing half of me. That's my secret." I smiled at her and noticed the cage deteriorating, freeing Courtney, and suddenly I was embraced in a tight hug. "Oh my gosh!" She cried, and I held her in my arms, burying my face in the crook of her neck. "I'm so sorry, Pan." I shushed her and closed my eyes. "I love you too. So much." I whispered in her ear. I held her possessively, afraid I'd lose her again if I ever let her go.
"Guys, we're sorry to break up the reunion, but something's happening!" Felix shouted. Courtney and I pulled apart and looked at everyone else. "Come on, we have to go." I said as I stood up and held my hand out for her to take, which she did with a smile. I smiled back and entwined our fingers together, running back to the other side of Echo Cave. "What's wrong?" I asked as we all exited the Cave, then I saw. There was a large cloud of green smoke on the horizon, meaning Zelena was up to something. "We have to stop her immediately or she'll ruin Neverland forever." I said, becoming angry. "Could you not take your anger out on my hand, dearie?" I heard Courtney whisper in my ear, and I remembered we'd been holding hands. "Sorry, love." I chuckled and she shook her head. "Where do you think she is, Pan?" Felix asked, standing beside me. "My best guess is that she'd go to the place where all of Neverland's magic comes from. Where my magic comes from." I replied, staring at the green cloud. "Skull Rock?" Courtney asked. "Indeed."
