"Mommy, daddy look here!!" The kids are all standing at the sliding door looking at the yard.
Justin walks over to them picking up Lexie who has gotten tired of standing and looks out the door "I don't see anything, guys, what are you looking at?"
"Tat, daddy!!" Ben points out something in the yard as he taps the screen door. Justin still looks confused.
I walk over and look out trying to find something, but don't see anything. We should have known that listening to a kid that shoved crayons in his diaper to be funny yesterday wasn't the best idea.
Just as I'm ready to turn away, Kay grabs my hand and I see something fall out of the corner of my eye. I look out to see one of Kay's toys falling to the ground, as well as a pile of Ben's on the deck.
Justin and I look back and forth from the kids to each other.
"I'm gonna go look."
I follow him out holding Kay and Ben's hands making sure to stay far enough away that we won't get hit by the toys.
"Kay, where did all these toys come from?" I ask when I notice that all except for one are Bens.
"They fall from the sky." She shrugs trying to hide something.
"Kayleigh Rachel," Justin pulls her closer to us "Are you lying?"
She has "dropped" his toys out a window she figured out how to open before. Justin supposedly fixed it. It is weird that one of hers just fell, though.
"Mommy, no." Ben tries sticking up for her "I do it." He sounds so funny trying to speak full sentences clearly, that we laugh making him upset.
"You mean!" He quivers his lip ready to start crying, so I give him some of his toys to make him stop.
Kayleigh is still adamant that she didn't do it, so we do what we know best, and try to bribe them for answers.
"Mommy will give each of you a cookie if you tell us who did it." Justin tries his best, and it looks like Ben is on the verge of saying something, but at 2 it could be anything. Kay, on the other hand finally gives in.
"Uncle Seb do it!" She smiles knowing she gets her cookie now "Ben helped him."
Once again, Justin and I look at each other, this time laughing. We should have known this before even questioning the kids. He's always playing pranks on us, but there has to be more than this.
Ben runs up to me pulling on my shirt, "It raining!!" He points to Sebastian dumping what is probably the biggest bucket of water ever on us. I grab him and rest him on the hip opposite Lexie and follow Justin to where the water is going to fall. He's holding Kay, who doesn't seem too happy about this. She complains as the water falls on us, saying that it's freezing, but is magically perfectly fine again when we walk inside.
"Okay, here's your cookie," I reluctantly hand it to Kay knowing too well that she does not need the extra sugar "But I better not find out you're hiding anything." She just takes her cookie and walks away to eat it.
We decide that we have to go up and face Sebastian eventually, so we grab the kids and make our way up the stairs. He is laughing at us from the play room, so we walk carefully hoping there aren't any more pranks.
I walk on the playroom and look at the wall on disbelief. It is covered completely in Kay and Ben's artwork done in crayon and pen. They must notice that Justin and I see it, because they run right over to Sebastian sitting as close to him as they can.
"Kayleigh Rachel Theroux!" Justin is not happy, "How did this happen?" We both know there is no point in asking Ben, even though he obviously helped.
"I didn't do it, daddy." She puts on her crying act hoping it'll get her out of trouble.
"Oh, really?" I ask knowing she's lying "Then who did?"
She gets really quiet and thinks for a minute before pointing towards Lexie, "Lexie do it." Yeah, blame it on your almost one year old sister. Totally believable.
"Okay, I looked away for like 5 minutes to set up the prank, and they already had half the wall colored." Sebastian stands up and slowly picks up random things around the room that were probably going to be used for other pranks. He isn't laughing anymore.
"I do it!" Ben jumps up selling himself out. He's lucky he's so cute, and so is Kay.
"I'll get cleaning stuff and help them clean it," Sebastian tries his best to be serious, but we all know he's holding back laughter "Your kids aren't very good at lying though. I need to work on that with them."
"I think it's fine if you don't help with that," I laugh throwing some wet washcloths to him "We don't need a bunch of little yous."
"Yeah, I already helped raise you once, I don't need to do that 3 more times."
Sebastian flips us off before going back to trying to clean on the wall. He hands Kay and Ben each a washcloth with soapy water, but they think it's play time.
Ben runs up to Sebastian and hits him on the back with his washcloth and starts laughing uncontrollably.
Sebastian grabs him and let's Kay splash him with the water from the bucket, causing them to get in a full on water fight.
We stand watching as water flies around the room and everything is soaked. If they weren't having so much fun I'd be pissed because this is going to take forever to clean up.
Lexie fights to get out of my arms so I let her down and we watch as she "runs" over to the others. She jumps around in the water that's on the floor having fun by herself while the others continue their fight. It's crazy to think that in a few short weeks she'll be one.
"Hey," Justin starts pulling me toward the fight "Let's have some fun."
One more part!! I'll upload it either Friday or Saturday. :)
