"Will you stop fidgeting?"
"I'm sorry, but how tight does this dress have to be?"
Caroline sighed and put the hair-curler down on the bathroom bench. She picked at Bonnie's hair some more and started twisting it into a formal updo. Bonnie winced as Caroline started securing the rhinestone-decorated pins in her hair.
"You'll look hot," She told Bonnie and took a step back to examine her work. "Beauty is pain, right?"
Bonnie rolled her eyes and tilted her head to the side as she looked herself over in the mirror. The strapless, dark red dress was tight and it exposed her curvy figure that she was so used to hiding. The sweetheart neckline showed off a little too much cleavage that Bonnie was comfortable with, and she kept on trying to tug it up. Caroline slapped her hand away and looked her up and down, examining Bonnie from her black pumps and tight floor-length dress up to her elegant updo.
"Something's missing," Caroline crossed her arms over her own dark blue dress and pushed her curled hair out of the way. "Makeup!"
"You've already done my makeup?" Bonnie complained. Caroline's fashion skills were amazing, and she'd perfected a slight cat eye on Bonnie. Elena had refused to dolled up by Caroline, and they decided that Bonnie was the one that needed all the extra attention. Which was new.
"Nope. I know exactly what will make you shine," Caroline rummaged through one of the drawers as she talked to herself, and Bonnie bit her bottom lip as she waited. "Yes!" She pulled out a deep red lipstick and held it out in front of Bonnie's face.
"I don't like lipstick," She said simply."
"Don't be stupid. Put it on, or I will."
With a reluctant sigh, Bonnie did as she was told and took the lipstick from Caroline, and she leant towards the mirror as she applied the dark red on her lips.
"Are we ready to go or what?" Elena asked as she walked into the room. She held her purple heels in her hands as she leant against the doorframe. She smoothed out her silky violet dress and looked up, her smile brightening when she saw Bonnie. "Oh my God. You look amazing!"
"Doesn't she?" Caroline squealed as she examined her masterpiece. "God. I should totally get a job as a makeup artist."
"Are you sure I -" Bonnie was cut off when her mobile vibrated on the dresser. She reached over and picked it up, bringing it to her ear. "Hello?"
"Bonnie? Where are you?" The familiar voice spoke through the phone.
Bonnie sighed and leant back in the chair, exchanging a glance with Elena and Caroline. She knew that the two vampires were listening to every word that was being said on the phone.
"Dad, I'm with my friends. I told you that?"
"I want you home," He demanded. "You know that you can't be out late."
"Come on, those rules are stupid. I can take care of myself."
"Bonnie, I don't want to argue."
"Dad, there's a party tonight. I'm going with all my friends."
"There isn't anymore."
"What? You can't be serious! Dad, it isn't fair!"
"Bonnie, I'm looking out for you. I just don't want to see you get hurt."
Bonnie was quiet for a few seconds and she looked at herself in the mirror. She swallowed and licked her lips.
"You're a few years too late." She hung up before he even had the chance to reply and she put the mobile back down on the dresser. They sat in silence until Caroline finally spoke up.
