Klaus paced the room of the Mikaelson mansion, muttering quietly to himself. He didn't even bother to pay attention to the blonde original as she walked into the lounge room and slumped into one of the armchairs. She flicked lush hair over her shoulder as she watched him, her bangles letting out metallic clinks each time she moved her arm.

"Something bothering you, brother?" Rebekah smirked slightly, watching Klaus angrily move up and down the room.

"Now is not the time to test my patience Rebekah," Klaus snapped without giving her so much as a second glance. He clasped his hands behind his back and looked to the ground as things swirled furiously in his head.

"Such a short temper, Nik," Rebekah tisked and observed her newly painted nails. "I wish that there was some way to stop my nail polish from fading. Maybe there's some sort of spell." Klaus growled and looked over at her, moving his hands again and folding his arms over his chest. He kept his mouth shut as he continued to silently pace. "When Kol's finished seducing the Bennett witch, maybe I can borrow her for a short while."

"Shut up, Rebekah," Klaus snarled and stopped in front of the flickering fireplace. He stared down at the burning embers.

"Why are you so mad at Bonnie anyway?" Rebekah shrugged as she folded one leg over the other, her eyes on Klaus's tense back.

"It's not Bonnie I am mad at."

"Kol?" Rebekah scoffed. "What has he done?"

"He has defied my rules and lied to me."

"You daggered him and kept him in a coffin, Nik. You kept him locked up longer than all of us. Even longer than Fin. You kept Kol in there for centuries. Doesn't he have the right to go against your rules?"

"He came into my house in my town and he deceived me without the courtesy of trying to hide his intentions!" Klaus yelled at her. "He has not rights in my home!"

"This isn't your town, Nik!" Rebekah flared. "It was once, but that was a thousand years ago! Time has changed. This town belongs to the people of Mystic Falls now."

"You're taking Kol's side over mine," Klaus narrowed his eyes at his younger sister. "You're betraying me for him? You hate Kol!"

"You were the one that always hated Kol! Don't go pinning this on me!" Rebekah pushed herself out of her seat and folded her arms over her chest, her bangles making a slight jingle. "I will not pick sides, Nik. But even I have seen how Kol looks at Bonnie. He cares for her, maybe even loves her. He is his own person, and you can't control him anymore."

"Since when do you care about how others feel?" Klaus growled.

"Since someone finally cared for me," Rebekah swallowed, taking in a shaky breath.

"You've let that weak human boy steal your heart?" He scoffed and turned his back on her.

"Matt is not weak," she defended. "He is strong, and kind and beautiful and everything that I'm not. If he can change someone like me, then imagine how Bonnie can change someone like Kol."

"Kol doesn't need to change. He needs to stay away from Bonnie."

"This isn't about Bonnie," Rebekah said quietly. "Is it? It's jealousy. You're irked at the fact that Bonnie might just fall for Kol again. And you're hurt that Caroline chose her love for Tyler over you. So now, you don't want Kol to find love again."

"Kol disobeyed me," Klaus tried to seem unfazed, but there was a small tremor in his voice that told Rebekah that she had struck him. That told her that she had been right. "I will not be made a fool out of."
