"Where are we going?"
"Just keep them closed for a little while more."
"I don't want to," Bonnie whined and held out her arms as she stumbled. Kol caught her and chuckled softly, placing his hand on her waist.
"Be patient, darling," Kol smirked and he reached out, a snapping sound echoing around the room. Bonnie jumped and stepped backwards into Kol's solid frame.
"What was that?"
"The lock?"
"Lock to what?"
"Open your eyes." Bonnie opened her eyes and her mouth opened in shock when she looked around. A thick Persian rug was rolled out along timber flooring, and the walls were painted a creamy brown colour. Bonnie gasped and grinned as she walked in, running her hands along the expensive furniture. A golden chandelier hung from a ceiling decorated to look like an antique map of the world. Paintings and photographs hung on the walls, and almost everything Bonnie looked at was Victorian styled. She pulled back the curtains to take in a glimpse of the city. "Oh my God," she breathed as she looked out into the sparkling lights. "You live here?"
"When I'm not in Mystic Falls."
"Why the hell would you want to go to Mystic Falls when you have this?"
"It's not the place," Kol shrugged. "It's the people."
Bonnie looked over her shoulder, watching Kol as he walked towards her. His eyes were dark and big, and her stomach flipped when he licked his bottom lip. "I'm hungry," Bonnie blurted as she walked away from him, heading over to the other side of a love-seat. She put on a bright smile as she looked across at him. "Is there anything to eat around here?"
"Downstairs," Kol smirked slightly.
"Oh, really? I'm starving. Like, really starving. You know what that feels like?"
"Yes," Kol nodded, but Bonnie was sure that he was thinking about something else other than food.
Bonnie's smile dropped, and she picked at her fingers nervously. She dared herself not to look at his lips, and she dared herself not to step towards him. Once she did, she'd be stuck. And Bonnie didn't know if she would be able to escape those pools of perfect brown. "How about I order something?" Kol finally asked, smirking slightly.
"Sure, that'd be great."
"I won't be a second," he turned, and Bonnie watched him as he walked out of the apartment. She let out a sigh and collapsed onto the sofa.
"Kol?" Bonnie squeaked and jumped up, spinning around to face a girl. She was a little older than Bonnie, and she had long orange hair and tanned skin. She wore a tight skirt that barely reached her thighs and a simple blank singlet. "Where's my Koly bear?"
"You're what?"
"My baby Kol," the girl rolled her eyes at Bonnie. "Jesus. Who the hell are you?"
"I'm.. Bonnie. A friend of Kol's."
"A friend?" The girl placed a hand on her hip and she looked Bonnie up and down, judging her. "Kol doesn't have black friends."
"Excuse me?" Bonnie exclaimed. "Who do you think you are?"
"I'm Stacey. Kol's girlfriend."
"Girlfriend?"
"That's right sweetie pie," Stacey smiled, but it wasn't friendly. "Sorry to ruin your little fantasies. But Kol isn't interested in children like you." Bonnie blinked back hot tears and her eyebrows knitted together. Girlfriend?
