Sehun stared at his former friend with caution, and curiosity both laced across his furrowed brows. He held his stance, his body tensed, because he had been involved in this situation long enough to know that Kyungsoo was not one to mess with, especially when you were involved.
But what had he done now? He had stopped talking to your friend altogether, he wanted nothing to do with her, he regretted the mistake he had made more than anything else he had ever done, and the worst part was, he knew he just couldn't take it back. Even if you ever did find it in you to forgive him, he would never forgive himself, as hard as he tried to convince himself that what he did wasn't that bad. He would never be good enough for you.
"What do you need to talk to me about? I thought we weren't on talking terms. None of you guys talk to me anymore, actually". Sehun told him, his tone serious, but his confindence was fading, flickering like a candle that's about to be blown out by chilly winter winds.
"Y/N." Kyungsoo replied bitterly. Deep down he didn't want to do this at all, he didn't want to hand you over, but perhaps this was the only way to make you happy again.
"Is she okay?" Sehun asked him, his tone filled with concern. Kyungsoo cringed. It was ironic that it was Sehun, of all people, bothering to ask if you were okay, when he was the one responsible for the whole situation.
"She tried to commit suicide. She's fine now. But I found her at the bottom of the tub, the day your girlfriend or whatever she is, was, talked to her. She almost drowned. I think... I think you should talk to her Sehun." Kyungsoo told him, his eyes fluttering shut as he let the pain in his chest take over his emotions, having had to pronounce those words.
Sehun's eyes widened, and immediately became rimmed red, as tears took control over his tear ducts. He couldn't stop them from filling his eyes, and clouding his vision before they rolled down his cheeks, one after the other, almost as if part of a secret race he didn't know about. His hand flew to his open mouth, and covered it gently, as he stared at Kyungsoo in horror.
"She... She did what?" He stuttered. This was all his fault. All his fucking fault. And there was nothing he could do to ever take it back. To ever make it right.
Sehun's world crashed down, crumbling around his feet, as realization dawned on him. He had not only messed up the only good thing in his life, the thing that made him human, the thing that kept him happy, the one thing that kept him real, but he had also messed your life up, and the lives of his friends in the process.
You were hurt, beyond measure, just because he was selfish, and childish, and he thought he could get away with anything. But actions have consequences, and it was time for him to realize it once and for all, and this time, he had messed up big time.
"What you heard Sehun. She tried to kill herself. She's at home now. I don't particularly like you, and I don't want to be doing this, but honestly, if you can make her feel better, then there is nothing more for me to do." Kyungsoo told him, as he opened the door of his car for him.
Sehun stared at him, with his reddened eyes open wide, and he saw it, he finally saw the truth crisp and clear, displayed right before his eyes.
"You love her." He said out loud, not a question, but a statement. Kyungsoo looked up at him, his own eyes now flooded with salty tears, and nodded sharply.
"You love her enough, that you are willing to give her up, just so she can be happy." Sehun said again, and Kyungsoo let out a bitter laugh.
"Yeah... The day you truly fall in love with someone, you will realize all the crazy things one does for love." Kyungsoo laughed, as a lone tear rolled down his face.
Sehun's heart shrunk. He had believed he loved you truly, but, he had cheated on you. He had hurt you, and he was willing to take you back, although he knew he would never be good enough for you, and was that true love? Kyungsoo would have ripped his own heart out to give it to you if he had to, but what about Sehun? Was this true love? Or did he have to learn to mature before he could truly feel something so intense?
Just as he was about to get in the car, both boys got caught of your former friend, and shared a similar facial expression: disgust.
Her shoulders dropped, and her head hung low, as she approached the two men. Sehun took a step back, to put a larger distance between his body and hers. He wished he had done that earlier, when all of this could have been avoided but all he felt towards her now was rejection.
"I heard about Y/N.... I... I know you guys don't want to talk to me, or even see me, but I don't know where she is at now. I went to the hospital, but she wasn't there... I just... I want to see her." She muttered, her eyes unable to move from her feet to their faces. Guilt weighed her shoulders down, and her eyes were also covered in tears.
"What so you can rejoice in her pain?" Kyungsoo snapped at her.
The girl lifted her head up, tears cascading down her face. She shook her head violently.
"NO! I want to apologize... I know that's not enough, and I know what I did was wrong... But I just... Please... let me..." She begged, as her vision became blurred completely.
Sehun sighed, he hated the girl, she hated everything she represented, but he was the last person who ever should judge her, for he was just as bad. He looked away from her.
"Sehun... Sehun please convince him..." She begged him, falling to her knees and grabbing hold of Sehun's jeans. Sehun shook her off his leg.
"Don't touch me." He snapped, taking a step back. Kyungsoo sighed, and picked her up, pulling her back onto her feet.
"I give you 5 minutes with Y/N, and after that, if she asks me to, I will remove you from my house, and you will never bother her again, understood?" Kyungsoo told her sternly, looking deep into her eyes. She nodded obediently, and with no hesitation, got into the car, putting her seatbelt on, and sitting up straight, with her hands on her knees, patiently waiting for Kyungsoo to start the engine.
Sehun sighed deeply, and got into the passenger seat, his palms sweating, his knee bobbing up and down nervously, as he ran all the things he had left unsaid through his mind, trying to figure out what to say to make you feel better.
Kyungsoo laughed bitterly again, as the engine roared to life. He couldn't believe the situation he had put himself in, it was a cruel comedy, a painful pantomime, here, sat in his car, with the girl who had once been your best friend, and had helped hurt you so badly you had tried to commit suicide, and the man who had cheated on you, and broken you, and yet he was once again, giving you up to him.
He had been so close, he had managed to gently graze his dreams with the tips of his fingers, but dreams are for the sleeping, and right now, he was wide awake, and he knew, he would probably never have you, and although it hurt, he was okay with it, because it meant you would at least be happy.
