Chapter Sixteen: Confusion

Tobias's POV

I jog around looking in hope to find the little girl who went missing days ago. We've looked practically everywhere from behind all the racks in the clothing store and every inch of ever room vacant or not.

I start jogging slower it soon then turns into just a walk. Looking around carefully I look in every corner and small space big enough to fit a small girl inside.

I find myself looking around the net in which transfers or borns who choose to stay in Dauntless jump off the building onto a net. After looking around long and hard I begin to walk away. Just as I turn around a corner I hear a scream and the sound of someone hitting the net.

Who on Earth could that be?

Turning on my heel I walk back but stop dead in my tracks my eyes widening.

There stands a girl with brown hair and blue eyes. If it wasn't for her familiar hooked nose I would've thought she was some idiot of a member. She stands brushing anything that would've been on her black pants off.

She's being tortured with fears of the ones she loves, she believes those fears.

I notice she does look thinner almost shorter too. Should I talk to her or should I walk away? Deciding on actually going up to talk to her I begin to stride towards her. I feel a small uneasy feeling in my stomach like I know something bad will happen.

"Ash." I say standing a few meters away. She looks up and her face begins to show different emotions. Sadness. Fear. And oddly enough anger.

"Ash it's just me, your brother." I say taking a careful step forward. She clenches her fists at her sides and looks from my foot, to the hall to our left then at my eyes.

"You can talk to me you know." I say taking another step forward. She takes a step back and glances towards my waist. I look down and see my gun that I have on me at all times.

She's scared I'll shoot her.

"Ash I promise I won't hurt you." I say taking one more step closer to my sister. She mutters something under her breath and as soon as I'm in arms reach of her she kicks me in the stomach causing me to fall to the ground. My gun slips out of my belt and skids across the cement floor.

"I didn't come here to say hi to anyone I came here to live my life and complete a task." She says with venom in her voice. I can't bring myself to respond not even stutter.

She jogs pass me picking up my gun off the ground and disappears into the blue lit hallways. Rubbing my stomach I stand up and groan. That's going to leave a bruise. Not wanting what happened to me to happen to anyone else I book it for the dining hall.

I open the two large doors and look hastily around for J, Bella, Flame, Natalie, Uriah and Zeke. I notice Shauna's brown hair and I walk over trying not to make myself look suspicious. J looks up at me with hopeful eyes but that soon fades when she realizes I don't have the little girl with me.

"Did you find her?" She asks setting her fork down on the table. "No I didn't. Ash however yes but be careful I didn't even touch her and she swung a powerful kick at me. She's not acting like how I thought she would."

I hear a laughter escape from someone's lips and I look behind me to see none other than my mother's little helper Harley standing there with a crooked smile. "Oh you silly boy."

"What do you mean?" I ask feeling rage build up inside of me. "People show fear in many ways as I can recall. Some actually cower and hide while others take it out physically. If your sister is acting out it wouldn't surprise me." She says crosses her arms across her chest.

"She's got a point Four." Bella speaks up, I glance over to see her looking up at me. I let out a sigh, "She's got my gun just be careful please guys I don't want to lose anymore people than I have."

"Then I guess you didn't see Tris leave did you?" Harley speaks up. I tense up and look around frantically only not to find the once abnegation girl. I slam my fist down in frustration on the table causing water glasses to spill.

"That's why she came dammit!" I shout. "I'm going to get Tris and my sister. Stay here that's an order." I say and turn on my heel walking out. I get to the training room and search for a gun.

"Here." I turn to see J holding a gun out to me. I take it and mumble a quick 'thank you'.

"Alright lead the way." She says calmly causing laughter to bubble in my chest. "I told you to stay put no one is coming with."

"Fine you go find your girlfriend and I'll go find my best friend."
