Ash's POV

I sprint towards the tall building in the Erudite sector of the city. My feet ache from all the running. I was almost to the walls, so close that I reach out and touch them. My legs are numb from the shoots of pain from my muscles over working. I can barely breathe but I don't lose my pace. Once the front doors come into view my feet come to a skidding halt as soon as I see the dark clothing with blue armbands.

I look towards the side of the building next to it with a fire escape staircase leading to the rooftops. I jog over keeping my heavy breathing quiet. A tight pain burns along my side, great exactly what I needed. I climb the staircase and quickly and quietly as possible. I keep my eyes only focused on the top never looking down.

I notice how my boots clamp against the cold metal. Sighing I unlace my boots and take them off leaving them on the fire escape. I reach the rooftop and shudder, my toes already numb from the cold. Right across the first escape is an open window leading right into the building that holds little Sally captive.

I look down at my socks then hesitantly rip them off shoving them into my jacket pockets. I give myself several feet for a head start. If I miss this jump I'll die from the fall or from the traitors below. I take a deep breath then run towards the ledge. I step up while I run and leap off from the edge of it. Arms extended I miss the window frame but grab the thin fabric of curtains. I go tumbling inside the window tearing the curtains down with me. The faint sound of a girl wailing and crying reaches my ears causing me to scramble to my feet and run out of the room, gun loaded and ready.

I run down the hallways following the screams from a young girl who can only be Sally. My cold bare feet slapping the ground, pain shooting through my feet and legs. I stop dead in my tracks once I reach a hallway splitting off into two separate halls.

I hear a sad sob from the hall to my left along with screaming along the lines of 'please no'! The hallway to my right contains the angry shouts of a familiar male, Tobias. Looking towards Tobias I see him being held back by two men not much bigger than him. "Ash?" He calls out. My mind turns from confusion to fear to anger.

Giving him a sorrowful look I turn and run down the left hall.

I turn sharply into the room in which the pained screams come from only to get a blow to my chin causing me to scream in pain and fall onto my back, the gun that once rested in my Hand slides across the tiles. It stops right in front of a pair of heels.

I sit up with my feet to my side and my hands on the ground holding my not so steady body up. Hair falls in my face as I look to see a little girl sitting in a chair strapped down. Jeanine stands a satisfied smirk on her face.

"My my my look who came to the rescue!" Jeanine says picking the gun up off the floor. "Oh my we came loaded and ready. How convenient."

"What do you want?" I snap glaring up at the blonde witch.

"I Can only imagine what Eric went through Ms. Eaton. Maybe the girl should experience that pain." She says raising the gun setting the cold barrel to Sally's pale forehead.

Tears stream down her freckle dotted cheeks as her eyes widen. Her Brown short hair clinging to her wet face from sweat and tears. Her green eyes filled with more tears along with fear as her body begins to tremble as soon as she realizes what is pressed against her forehead.

"Don't you fucking dare!" I shout lunging at her knocking her to the ground. A gunshot is fired and a agonizing pain spreads under my right rib cage. I'm then roughly pushed off of her slamming into a metal table and all it's contents come crashing down on my head.

Soon a flash of black is running over to me from the doorway, I can barely make out who it is as my vision blurs and my ears ring.

"Get away from her!" Jeanine hisses over the blood curling ringing and screams from Sally. "This wasn't part of the plan!" Someone shouts, a male.

"I was going to kill her anyways you naive traitor! Back to positions Peter! Leave her to die!" Jeanine shouts causing my eyes to drift to the boy knelt down in front of me.

"P-peter?" My voice cracks.

"It's me its me everything's okay everything will be okay." He says as calmly as possible. I watch as his eyes begin to water as he paces his hands over my wound trying to stop the blood flow.

'Click'

"I said leave her there to die Peter." Jeanine demands while holding the gun to his head.

"No! Please stop!" Sally cries trying to escape the rope that binds her wrists and ankles together.

I look back at Peter and see sorrow and sadness. I expect him to stand up, to leave me to die here on the ground in front of him. He doesn't move though, he holds his ground.

"Peter now." Jeanine says sternly but he moves not an inch. The only thing he moves is his eyes that rested anywhere but mine now locked on my own.

"G-go." I whisper setting my hand on his tears falling down my face from the pain and the fear that continues to grow. "I've made many stupid mistakes this won't be one of them." He says causing my heart to flutter but ache at the same time.

Out of the corner of my eye I see a tall girl with brown hair untying Sally. Sally leaps from her seat quietly into the girl's arms. The girl looks up and I notice that it's J. I glance over to my left to see an unbroken syringe filled with a clear liquid.

My fear only grows as my brother stands in the doorway Tris in his arms. Anxiety kicks in and I grab the mysterious syringe. Peter tries to grab it from me but its too late, the needle is already embedded in my skin.

I feel light headed and my world tips and sways. "You idiot!" Jeanine's voice yells. "You monster!!" Peter shouts jumping to his feet. My world then slowly fades out the last thing I see is Peter's scared eyes on me.
