I'm dragged out of the jail and to the room I fear most. I struggle against the traitors tears falling down my cheeks.
"No! Please!" I cry as I'm dragged into the room and strapped into a chair.
That's when they inject the serum and I go out like a light in my nightmares.
Bella's POV
We walk into the building that's smells of smoke from a small dancing flame in a room I pass following this Evelyn.
We walk into a room that has a desk with a map behind it. "I found her." Evelyn says setting her gun down on her desk.
"Found who?" I ask and she doesn't smile. "My daughter and Tobias' sister, Ash." She says and our eyes light up.
"She's alive?" Tobias asks and Evelyn nods with no smile.
"She's in Erudite-" she gets cut off by J bursting in with questions.
"Why is she there? Is she alright? Can we see her?" J asks and Evelyn shakes her head.
"I don't know why she's there but my assistant Harley is investigating and the last time she spoke to me was last night." She says.
Evelyn sets something on the desk and hits a play button.
"No please!" Ash's voice screams worried and distressed. Sobbing comes in the back ground. Then it's silence until screams of fear emerge causing me to jump. Then silence once more and more sobbing.
"They wouldn't! But they would!" Ash sobs and I listen. "Their Traitors!" She screams and continues to cry.
The tape stops and I fail to see Evelyn with any sign of hurt,pain, distress, or even worry. She begins saying "Their torturing her. Harley has reported back with Fears of people she loves. She believes the fears too. She's having a hard time dealing with it to and has had thoughts of killing herself." Evelyn says and my heart drops.
Not Ash. Not the girl I helped from being beaten. Not the one who introduced me to Uriah. She can't die. She hid my secrets and still is.
For once I hear Tobias' voice crack like he's about the cry but he clears his throat. "How do we get her back?"
Evelyn shakes her head. "We can't get her out." She says and I feel my eyes water and a tear trickle down my cheek. "And we will not due to future plans I need all of my people for. Ash will be used as a step to move forward to get us closer to what we, the faction less, want."
"We have to!" Tobias shouts taking me by surprise. Evelyn shakes her head then takes a deep breath.
"If I send a rescue crew in then I risk losing my faction. My people." She says sternly and I burst in.
"So your people are more important than your daughter?!" I shout.
"50% of my faction is divergent young lady. I can't have them get their hands on my people. Even if it means giving up my own daughter." She says and Flame, J, Natalie, Jakyia and I did the same thing.
Walk out and to where? Candor Headquarters because I know that's where everyone is.
Everyone but Ashley
Or so I think
