Chapter 22 - Lasata

-Many Weeks Later-

"Let's hurry!" Carlo exclaimed
He grabbed his backpack and carefully put his wand inside. Tyler, Sub, and Jorge followed, Chris being the last one to exit the door. He grabbed his daggers as he hid them and instantly ran into a girl. They both toppled over, falling.

"Oh my gosh! I-I'm so sorry m-miss-" Chris stuttered as he saw her face. It was the same girl he first laid eyes on.

"O-Oh no... it's fine... hey... you're the one of the outsiders that's been training with the prince!" She cheered.

"H-How do you know?!"

"It's the top talk of the village! A-Also... I saw you guys run to the kingdom when harvesting fruit. M-My name's Lasata. You?"

"C-Chris... nice to meet you." Chris said, his cheeks turning to a light pink.

"Aha... I-It was nice meeting you, Chris. Maybe we can talk again soon?"

"Y-Yeah."

...

"Wow, Chris. You've been on the streak of talking to that girl. Did you finally meet her after many attacks of drool?" Tyler joked.

"H-Hey!" Chris stuttered, blushing.

"Haha, no but seriously. Who is she?" Jorge asked.

"Her name is Lasata, so I've heard." Sub jumped into the conversation. "I've overheard Chris when we run to the castle. He's always the last one to leave the door, and I've gotten suspicious."

"God dang it-" Chris sighed, slumping onto the floor, blushing more.

"Hey, it's not like we're making fun of you- well, maybe Tyler but don't feel bad. Carlo went through the same thing." Jorge said.

"Y-Yeah... but she's back at home living with her new family..." Carlo said, a bit saddened. But then his face lightened up, a smile on his face. "But you should ask her out!" Chris' eyes widened, his back straightening up and more blush on his face.

"Wha- I- really!?"

"Yeah! You guys look cute together." Sub said.

"B-But what if she likes another guy? W-What if she's not interested in me?!" Chris panicked, his voice slowly breaking into tiny sobs.

"Chris, you're over reacting." Tyler said. "You're gonna be fine. Look, maybe you could go to the castle and ask the guys? Maybe they know something about this situation."

...

"Lasata, eh? I've heard of her. She's always peekin' in the castle to try to find someone... or to watch someone." Jason said.

"Hm? How do you know?" Chris asked.

"Please, we see her all the time. I'm always sending messages and every time I fly around, I see her peaking around the castle. It's pretty strange really. But to be fair, you aren't the only one who's dealing with this." Jason answered. "Don't tell Adam I said this... but he likes a village girl just like you. Her name is Alesa Clark."

"Hm... I'll go look into it. Thanks Jason." Chris thanked, as he walked more into the castle, the image of Lasata filling his thoughts.

...

"Lady troubles? Ha, pretty sure we've all been there." Jerome said, rubbing wax on his axe. Next to him was Mitch and Quentin, fixing their weapons as well.

"Just be yourself..." Quentin said, his words slightly muffled in his scarf.

"Yeah, being yourself is key. Being a fake doesn't really work out... you'll feel guilt. You just gotta wait for the right time, okay?"

"I got it. Thanks guys."

Chris walked away, seeing King Jin as usual, strolling around with his purple cape following behind him.

'We'll get you... if you lay hands on Lasata, you're dead to me.'

Hello, you may be wondering where the updates are at. Well... Since school is more of a hassle, writing stories has been hard. Not only that, motivation. I recently broke up with my boyfriend, so i need some time to recover as well as I have camp for the next 2 freakin' days. I hope you understand.
