Silence

Chapter 1

*Nine years ago*

Alexis's POV

I was tossing and turning in my bed curled up with snow my pretty kitty. I jolted up in bed when I heard my mommy scream from her and daddys room. I heard thunk after thunk from their room.

I heard mommy whimper in the silent house and I got really scared. I got up with snow softly mewing at me "Stay here snow" I whisper. I walk out of my room and quietly went to mommy and daddy's room seeing the door was open slightly.

I looked in horror at mommy's body on the floor with her head weirdly shaped and red liquid around her. I looked over at daddy and he noticed me. He walked up to me and I whimperd scared that he might hurt me.

"Sweetheart dont be scared, mommy tried to take away daddy's medication and we couldnt have that now could we?" I look back down and saw the medication that daddy puts into his arm and has to get from a secret doctor. I shake my head and he smiles.

He sets the bat down and sets his hands on my tiny shoulders. "Now you must not say anything to anyone. I am going to call the police and say there was a break in okay? You just stay quiet and not say anything or else you might end up like mommy."

I nod and start to cry as I look back at mommy on the floor. I don't really know what's wrong with her but I know its really bad. "Good now go back to your room" I nod and run back closing the door.

*Present day*

I sat on my normal bench in the park looking out at the lake. I would come here when I didn't want to go home. I found my only escape by sitting here with my ear buds in. I was happy that we were still on summer vacation since I hated school, absolutely hated it but I stopped myself from thinking about it since it will just ruin my somewhat happy mood.

I looked through my IPod and put on A Match Into Water by Pierce The Veil and started writing in my journal lyrics that I have been working on. I felt someone tap on my shoulder and I toke out an earbud and looked up.

"Whats up girly why are you always sitting on your own? You're too cute to be all by yourself" I bite my lip not answering feeling kinda bad but its just what happens sometimes since I havent spoken a word ever since all thise years ago.

"I'm Hunter would you like to come back to my place?" He asks when I don't speak, I shake my head and look back down. He doesnt give up and sits really close next to me. "Oh why not? It will be fun" I shake my head once again and scoot away putting away my stuff.

He places his hand on my thigh and I freeze unable to move. "Are you sure you dont need to be so shy" I feel tears come to my eyes "Hey dude you can tell she doesn't want to do anything with you so lay off!"

Damian walks up and pushes the Hunter guy away from me. I look down and bring my knees up to my chest "Well maybe she should speak if she doesn't want it." He stands up and whispers in my ear "I will get you one way or another." He walks off without another word.

I softly cry my head buried into my knees as Damian sits down beside me. He sighs and hugs me, softly speaks "You need to learn to stand up for yourself. Something bad could have happend if I didn't get here when I did. Even if you dont speak you need to used pepper spray or something." I nod after I stop crying and pull away out of his arms after a few minutes and look back out to the lake. Damian has been there ever since we were in first grade. He would always try to get me to speak since that day.

He knows that it wasn't just some random break in but thats it. He doesn't know what I do to myself or what my father does to me. I look at the time and panic because I am late.

I put everything away and stand. Damian does the same and walks me to my house. I slowly walk next to him keeping my head down "You need to start texting me when to get down there because I really wanted to spend so time with you"

I feel kinda bad and I want to say something but I am to scared to. I look up at him and give him an apologetic look. He sighs "No its fine I just wish that you would text me" I bite my lip softly getting lost in thought.

I don't talk or text anyone anymore not wanting anything to accidentally slip about why I am like this. "Is your dad busy again?" I nod. Its more like I am busy, father needs his drug money somehow and he uses me to get it.

He sighs and nods stopping in front of my house. "Well ill see you tomorrow." I nod and give him a fake smile begore hugging him. He walks away and I slowly walk inside scared about what will happen.

"You are lucky that no one came untill just now!" My father yells at me and grabs my arm roughly dragging my down to the basement. "Now after he is done with you I am going to deal with you."

He pushes me onto the bed and walks back up slamming the door. I hear a chuckle just noticing someone else was in here. "I told you I would have you" I get scared seeing that it was that Hunter guy from earlier.

He walks up and I do what he wants with no talking. Its what he paid for so I have to obey.
