{My New Family} Dan and Phil Reader Insert

EPILOGUE: Funeral

"Today is a terribly sad day.

The funeral of Daniel James Howell.
Oh, how he was only 24 years old..." The guy at the front said. You didn't know his name or what he was called. All you knew was that this was Dan's, uh... funeral.

Dan's whole family was there. His mum, his dad, his brother, cousins, other friends, the whole lot. Many of them were crying.

You and Phil shot each other glances as the guy continued, "Daniel was a very... interesting person. He was humorous, kind, and immensely generous. Daniel will always be in our hearts forever. His soul is deemed to go to heaven, where all good people go in the afterlife."

Phil wiped away a stray tear as you sniffed. The guests nearest to you guys patted your shoulders and reassured you two, "Its okay."

The guy kept going, "We will always remember Dan for who he was..."

...

The giant TV in the front started playing an iconic video, "Hi... My name is, [Dan]."

Suddenly, the lid of the casket burst open and Dan sat up straight as the guests all screamed.

You and Phil were sitting there snickering as Dan yelled at the two of you, "YOU KNOW, I TOLD YOU GUYS THAT I WANTED A SMALL PRANK FUNERAL, AND WHAT DID YOU DO? YOU PLAYED 'HELLO INTERNET!' YOU GUYS HAD ONE JOB! ONE FUCKING JOB!"

He really ungracefully climbed out of the coffin and quickly walked out of the funeral home mumbling to himself, possibly talking to himself.

Once Dan left, you and Phil broke into a fit of hysterical laughter. The guests either turned to you and glared at the two of you or laughed along with you guys.

Everyone was dismissed, and when you and Phil got into the car Dan was already seated in, Dan huffed, "That was not funny."

"Oh, come on!" You whined.

"Not even a little bit?" Phil added on.

The brown-eyed male stayed silent for a moment, until his face broke out into a small smile, "Okay... that was a bit funny..."

The three of you started at each other for a minute, then started laughing. No reason. You guys just started laughing. It's a normal thing.
