Our Summer

Chapter 2

    

May's POV

Today was the day. In one hour I would be out of this school and read to start the best summer ever. I'll get to hang with my best friend in the entire world and possibly hang with my crush.

     It was after lunch and it was time to clean out our lockers. I was so pumped because it would be fun one because my locker is next to Cole's and two my locker is also next to Nathan's.

"Hey may what time are we leaving next week?"

     I was once again snapped out of my daydreaming by Cole. I really got to ask her to stop doing that.

"Our flight is at 3:00 and its on a Saturday so we got to get there early so i'm thinking around 1:30. That should give us plenty of time to get, there go through security, and get on the plane."

     "ok sounds good. Can you pick me up. If i let my mom drive me she will become an emotional wreck. I would drive myself but that only means more money to spend at the airport and not in New York."

     "Ya that's fine."

    As soon as I finished my sentence I saw Nathan walking down the hall to come collect his stuff just like Cole and I. This was going to be very interesting. Maybe we can talk more about New York?

     "Hey Cole."

     "Hey May"

"Hey Nathan"

"So May if I got this correct we are leaving Saturday, we're gonna get there around 1:30, and then get through security plus board the plane."

    "ya that's right."

  I could tell Nathan was listening when I saw him staring at me and Cole. That's when he I knew he was going to say something now all I could hope for that it was something good and not super disappointing like "sorry I don't feel like going to New York my ex-girlfriend lives there." That would ruin part of my summer.

     "May what gate are you and Cole going to be waiting at?"

"ummm I think its gate 22A. why?"

"Well because i'm leaving the same day you guys are. One more question what seat are you guys?"

     " I think we're row 8 seat three. Can I ask why again?

"Well, I think i'm on the same plane as you guys which means we will get there same time. I'm row 3 seat 3. I'll be really close."

As he said those last few sentences I think I might have almost fainted. Nathan would be on the same plane as ME! I can't believe this. I realized he was about to leave so I had to respond.

"cool maybe we'll see you there."

    "ok sounds good. Text me when your at the airport maybe we can all meet up for lunch."

"Alright." I think I might have just said "alright" like I was fan girling. Hope he didn't notice.

  All he did was smile and walk to his next and last class. I just smiled back probably making a fool out of myself while trying to act cool. Wow, great May just great!

"OMG May what was that!"

     "I honestly have no clue but i'm pretty Nathan just said he was flying to New York with us. As I said that I noticed Cole making weird faces at me. I was so confused. Then I turned around of course there was Nathan just standing there smiling.

"Sorry I forgot my Math notebook."

  "Its ok." i said really embarrassed hoping he didn't hear what I just said.

   Thank goodness he walked away and didn't mention what I just said. Ya maybe I was wrong because Cole was looking at me weird again and that when it turned around and saw Nathan again. Great! He catches me at the worst times. As I was about ask what he was back for now he cut me off with the words that just made me die inside but in the best way possible.

    " oh, and May I really like you too."

I sat there and just smiled like a total fool. He walked away and I turned and screamed in Cole's face out of pure excitement.

     I could tell this was going to be the best summer ever and the best plane ride ever. At least I hope.......
