14 year old Jamie in the picture. IDK why I chose Cameron Dallas but I think that will be Jamie's cast.

Thump, thump, thump.....

My stupid heart seemed to keep on furiously beating. Lizzy tightened the bow at the back of my dress as she clapped her hands.

I glance at the mirror one more time and see that my arm is completely healed. But not my side.

" Miss Avery, your father requires your presence ." I nod at the butler as I take a deep breath and push the grand doors open.

There he was, standing all mighty and tall next to his Highness, the king. Here he was in the throne room. You'd have to face him sooner or later. Xander's words echoed in my head. I inhaled a sharp breath as I walked towards them. My father's head whipped to the side and smiled at me. By now my insides wanted to hurl all over the floor. He was keeping his reputation by smiling at his one and only daughter.

When I reached them, I curtsy to the king and address him, " Your highness," He nods as his striking green eyes watch me intensely. I turn towards my father and his taurine eyes boar into mine. I stare back with equal intensity. "We're not his puppets anymore, " The voice in my head reminded me.

I wasn't one of those girls who suffocate there father with that bear strangling hug and squeal in delight. My father and I had a different way. A way that I I hated and despised most girls for having a good relationship with their fathers. I picked up my father's hand and brought it up to my lips. And YUCCCKKK! I forced my self to kiss it before I spat onto it. My father brought my hand up tucked into his elbow. Now i was locked next to him.

"Father," I welcomed him in front of the king.

" Rachel," My father responded with equal enthusiasm. My father was a tall man who towered over people. With my 5'8 frame versus his 6'3 frame, I had to look up to meet his gaze.

" Now, if you may excuse us David, I have a lot to catch up with my daughter." My father said to the king. OH no.. I needed to be around people, not alone with my dad and his cruel words. I gulped, praying for the king to refuse. But who was I kidding?

"Of coarse, your daughter had survived the first trial! You must be very proud of her." My father beamed to the king. " Of coarse your highness, good day now." The king briefly nodded as my dad pulled me along with him towards the doors. Before we can reach the doors, the doors slam open. There was Xander, whose eyes were wide and his shirt not buttoned properly standing before us. His worried eyes found mine.

He straightened himself as he studied my father. " Mr. Avery, a pleasure to meet you." Xander said as he forced a smile out. What a great actor he was. My father bowed his head as shook Xander's hand. " The pleasure will always be mine, your Highness." Xander seemed to stand in our way as I pleaded with my eyes to him. " Now, if you'll excuse us, we must be on our way. "

I bit my lip. " Sir, actually I need to borrow Rachel for a moment. " The prince said as I secretly grinned.

But then to my horror a voice boomed from behind. " Xander leave this father see his daughter. You can later talk to Ms.Avery ."It was the king. Ughhh, how I hated my life at the moment.

Before the prince could protest, the king locked his eyes into his son's. Xander looked over to me and gave me the " I'm Sorry look". I couldn't blame him. The king was never to argue with, because your head would be on the line.

" Alright then, I'll catch you later Mr. Avery. " I nod as my father pulls me away from the throne room. My father casually pulled me along with him. "I'm surprised that you survived, Rachel." He sneered as he stopped to leer at me. He surprised me by placing his hand on my shoulder. " I am proud that you haven't shamed our family. "
